Did anyone notice the author names differ from the songs written in This is it booklet?

What I mean is, for all the songs (written by MJ), it says "written by Michael J. Jackson" but for Jam it says "written by Michael Jackson".

Not sure if this means anything, I just noticed it and thought it was kind of strange?

    MAYBE WE MUST TO LOOK WHEN THE SONGS WAS WRITTEN , MAYBE HE REALLY CHANGE HIS ARTISTIC NAME... <!-- s:roll: -->:roll:<!-- s:roll: -->
  • Perhaps it has something to do with publishing rights of the song-writers or rules applied for name references of the song-writers. It appears that Michael is refered as Michael J. Jackson only in the song-writer graph and only for those songs he has written solely (or with a brother). In all the other cases he is refered as Michael Jackson (producion, vocals, arrangements or song-co-writer).

    The CD booklet also doesn't mention Michael as vocalist in TDCAU and Earth Song... could that mean that we didn't hear them live in the movie but recorded, and since this is a credit for the soundtrack they only mention vocals which we heard live?.. i wouldn't think so though

    Yes by Paul Anka who they also missed out of the TII movie credits too , Which makes me think it was a publicity stunt before the movie or Sony paid Anka a large sum or something.. But i have always found that weird.

    True, but so say the credits in the booklet. Everybody knows by now it was co-written and they paid Anka 50%... totally wierd. Well sometimes Michael fogets little details of the sort... like with John Landis fo ex. I was so amazed to find out he filed a claim against MJ in January 2009 or so for un-paid royalties. Not to say Michael had to control that personally, but those things happen with big artists.

    there is this guy called Michael Jackson who used to write songs for the Jackson 5.
    maybe the songs that say "by Michael Jackson" were written buy this guy, and not the real Michael.

    For all songs, he has written, he's officially listed as MICHAEL JOE JACKSON.
    I looked for that while we were discussing the Joe vs Joseph thing on MJHD.

    I'll have a look for the link and will edit my post then.
    Here it is: <!-- m -->http://tinyurl.com/mjsonglistings<!-- m -->
  • because if you read Moonwalker you will learn that Michael met an Englishman who is the autor of some Michaels song texts..and he's name is Michael Jackson ..<!-- s:) -->:)<!-- s:) --> <!-- s:mrgreen: -->:mrgreen:<!-- s:mrgreen: -->
