Fidel Castro fascinated by book on Bilderberg Club
By WILL WEISSERT, Associated Press Writer – Wed Aug 18, 2:52 pm ET

HAVANA – Fidel Castro is showcasing a theory long popular both among the far left and far right: that the shadowy Bilderberg Group has become a kind of global government, controlling not only international politics and economics, but even culture.

The 84-year-old former Cuban president published an article Wednesday that used three of the only eight pages in the Communist Party newspaper Granma to quote — largely verbatim — from a 2006 book by Lithuanian-born writer Daniel Estulin.

Estulin's work, "The Secrets of the Bilderberg Club," argues that the international group largely runs the world. It has held a secretive annual forum of prominent politicians, thinkers and businessmen since it was founded in 1954 at the Bilderberg Hotel in Holland.

Castro offered no comment on the excerpts other than to describe Estulin as honest and well-informed and to call his book a "fantastic story."

Estulin's book, as quoted by Castro, described "sinister cliques and the Bilderberg lobbyists" manipulating the public "to install a world government that knows no borders and is not accountable to anyone but its own self."

The Bilderberg group's website says its members have "nearly three days of informal and off-the-record discussion about topics of current concern" once a year, but the group does nothing else.

It said the meetings were meant to encourage people to work together on major policy issues.
The prominence of the group is what alarms critics. It often includes members of the Rockefeller family, Henry Kissinger, senior U.S. and European officials and major international business and media executives.

The excerpt published by Castro suggested that the esoteric Frankfurt School of socialist academics worked with members of the Rockefeller family in the 1950s to pave the way for rock music to "control the masses" by diverting attention from civil rights and social injustice.

"The man charged with ensuring that the Americans liked the Beatles was Walter Lippmann himself," the excerpt asserted, referring to a political philosopher and by-then-staid newspaper columnist who died in 1974.

"In the United States and Europe, great open-air rock concerts were used to halt the growing discontent of the population," the excerpt said.

Castro — who had an inside seat to the Cold War — has long expressed suspicions of back-room plots. He has raised questions about whether the Sept. 11 attacks were orchestrated by the U.S. government to stoke military budgets and, more recently suggested that Washington was behind the March sinking of a South Korean ship blamed on North Korea.

Estulin's own website suggests that the 9/11 attacks were likely caused by small nuclear devices, and that the CIA and drug traffickers were behind the 1988 downing of a jetliner over Lockerbie, Scotland, that was blamed on Libya.

The Bilderberg conspiracy theory has been popular on both extremes of the ideological spectrum, even if they disagree on just what the group wants to do. Leftists accuse the group of promoting capitalist domination, while some right-wing websites argue that the Bilderberg club has imposed Barack Obama on the United States to advance socialism.

Some of Estulin's work builds on reports by Big Jim Tucker, a researcher on the Bilderberg Group who publishes on right-wing websites.

"It's great Hollywood material ... 15 people sitting in a room sitting in a room determining the fate of mankind," said Herbert London, president of the Hudson Institute, a nonpartisan policy think tank in New York.

"As someone who doesn't come out of the Oliver Stone school of conspiracy, I have a hard time believing it," London added.

A call to a Virginia number for the American Friends of Bilderberg rang unanswered Wednesday and the group's website lists no contact numbers.

Castro, who underwent emergency intestinal surgery in July 2006 and stepped down as president in February 2008, has suddenly begun popping up everywhere recently, addressing Cuba's parliament on the threat of a nuclear war, meeting with island ambassadors at the Foreign Ministry, writing a book and even attending the dolphin show at the Havana aquarium.

I say good for Castro for doing this. I think he is trying to do what he can to expose the group with the time he has left. Some could agrue he's senile or paranoid but I believe that often when as people age and face their own mortality, they realize certain things need to be said (or quoted in this case) and no longer be kept secret. Perhaps one more F U to those he opposed. And people need to know these facts and quit being blind to what is going on right in front of their eyes!

I would watch for the U.S. to come up with an excuse to get to Venezuela because it's President Chavez has been compared to Castro and has expressed his own suspicions of the U.S. government. The american military has been closer now ever since the earthquake in Haiti, which is just north of Venezeula. It's coincidental that the earthquake enabled the U.S. army to take over Haiti without looking like they're invading, seems like a good jumping off point to South America. HAARP anyone?

Conspiracy theorist received recently from an unlikely source, Fidel Castro. Nearly absent from public life until a few weeks ago, Castro has been stirring controversy with his most recent series of 'Reflecciones' in which he praises the work of Daniel Estulin on the Bilderberg Group. More and more, notable figures are coming forward with their questions and observations about 9-11 and other conspiracies. Is the secrecy being unraveled, piece by piece? What caught my eye about Castro's comments was how much print was devoted to the music industry. Having just watched MJDHI's videos on the Elvis hoax about the possibility that Elvis was acting as a federal agent and may have hidden by way of the witness protection program, I thought the timing of Castro's post rather interesting. And we all know Michael's thoughts on the matter.

Here are the links with some small excerpts.

“Another decade was yet to pass by before the counterculture became part of the American vocabulary. But the seed of what was a titanic and secret project to turn US values upside down were planted then. Sex, drugs and rock-and-roll, big demonstrations all over the country, hippies, drug addicts who dropped from school, Nixon’s presidency and the Vietnam War were tearing up the very fabric of the American society. The old and the new were on a collision course and no one realized that this conflict was part of a secret social plan designed by some of the most brilliant and diabolic persons in the world…”

“MTV, a commercial TV channel specially for rock and music videos, which was invented and directed by Robert Pittman, aimed at the youth and teenagers, was founded on August 1 of 1981. Today it is part of the Viacom Empire (known as CBS Corporation, whose Chairman and Director-General, Sumner Redstone, is a full member of the CFR and whose media group is part of the Bilderberg Club). In order to reach out to the young people without the society being aware of the deceit, it was necessary to ‘create a counter-institution that would preach values contrary to those which prevailed in the society.’ That is precisely what MTV does. But for such an effort to be successful –according to L. Wolfe- it is necessary to neutralize the positive influence exerted by parents and the school, or at least to weaken such influence.”

“’The model for that [MTV] were the theatre shows put up by the pre-Nazi Richard Wagner, in which the audience was led into a sort of ecstasy that was later on deliberately used by the Nazis when organizing their own symbolic celebrations, such as the meetings in Nuremberg.’ The brainwash specialists who created MTV were very much aware of its effect. In a book written about that TV network, ‘Rocking Around the Clock’, it is stated that MTV ‘hypnotizes more than any other [TV network] because it is about a series of short texts that keep us in a continued state of emotion and expectation…We remain trapped by the continued hope that the next video would please us at last. Seduced by the promise of immediate satisfaction, we keep on consuming those short texts endlessly.’”

It is terrible to think that the intelligences and sentiments of children and youth in the United States are mutilated in that way.

Today, we have to fight to avoid being led into a nuclear holocaust, and to restore as much as possible their physical and mental health and to think and plan the ways in which human beings can be liberated for ever from such a terrible fate.
  • Yes, nothing surprises me anymore. Everything is just too coincidental.

I applaud Castro for this; Chavez may have very 'particular' manners, yet many times he talks real sense.

Ideologies are more and more sparse in today's world of politics. Castro has always been portrayed as a bad guy, but here is a man true to himself and his ideology, IMO. I can't no longer avoid thinking of the motives behind every political decision that gets reported. Unfortunately, very few of these motives are altruistic in nature. Yet there's so much conflicting info coming out of different fronts -disinformation- that is sometimes difficult to see what the exact motivations of different sources are. Although on occasion they are fairly plain to see...fortunately for us!

A few days ago I saw on television an interview that was done to Fidel Castro, has 84 years and I can assure you that your mind is more lucid than any of us.

Caracas, 27 Aug. AVN-The leader of the Cuban revolution, Fidel Castro, assured that Colombia is a country become U.s. base also criticized the spread of these bases for Latin America.

Commander Fidel said: "In Venezuela do not." Colombia is a country become basis. In Honduras, do. In Costa Rica, do not, but yes 40 ships with carriers and carries helicopters, 'nobly' helping the fight against drugs. It is a total cynicism.

These statements offered them the Cuban leader after holding a meeting in Havana with the Russian writer Daniel Estulin "best seller" author "the true history of the Club Bilderberg".

Fidel said that the U.s. Government has expanded its military bases in areas like the Malvinas and Guantanamo, elsewhere "do not face, but in reality yes" and "make exercises and practices".

Daniel Estulin considered that "Chavez makes war because, against all odds, Venezuela remains of the few countries in the world where there is no American military bases." And Cuba hate it for the same reason: their independence. "Cuba cannot destroy the concept 'nation-State', in my opinion the most important over the last 600 years", said the researcher writer.

Fidel Castro who received on the island to President Chavez in visit surprise that gave you last Wednesday, indicated that the Venezuelan Government Chief works in the peace process with Colombia without rest, and "sleeping a little day working all night".
This encounter between Castro and Estulin occurs after the former representative reference in some of his recent "Reflections" theories outlined in article entitled Estulin: "the true history of the Club Bilderberg".

On the subject of the upcoming elections in Venezuela Estulin assured the comicial process is crucial.

Indicated that according to the sources linked to the US State Department, assured him that "there after the demonization of Hugo Chavez and the Bolivarian process, is a project of installation of military bases in the country, making it impossible to sovereign and latinoamericanista policy of Venezuelan leader".

Said it was "a fascinating dialogue" where for more than an hour and a half covered topics such as the conquest of space, the political situation in Venezuela, the dangers threatening the survival of humanity and Atomic, threats among other topics CubaDebate web site.

Indicated Fidel that it is necessary to fight the forces that impede progress. To explain this claim the former representative explained: "since the beginning of life on this planet, adds, are calculated that it was done around 4 000 million years." Oil began to form more or less 400 million years ago. The man is spending less than 200 years oil accumulated in more than 400 million years... "The atmosphere not resist consumption."

Estulin expressed his approval to the explanation of the Cuban Commander-in-Chief and added: "I think that we have to fight all both as Fidel because survive the species... many people believe that we have reached the point of no return, and we should stop dry", what Fidel adds: "the dangers are very large".

Estulin he presented his books to Fidel and wrote in the dedication: "Win the war when the power of love is more than the love of power". Fidel read it silently and says out loud: "Win the war not waging it".

And as for Hugo Chavez, has not perhaps the most refined manners, but it is certainly a very charismatic and often their statements are taken out of context.

Hugo Chavez is not traditional and beyond, anything predictable. is an ex officio, strategist not by have ported a military uniform, not! man possesses an enviable intuition, appalling analysis capacity and not to mention his memory, which - I've seen - wakes up the envy of many. Once in a popular concentration, which offered an abundant detail fiery speech and comparative historical, someone said to themselves, but with enough voice to be heard by those who were closer: "this man gave useful throughout his brain mass".

They say that it has an arrogant personality, is not true. An arrogant not mixed with the peoples of the emotional way as he accomplishes this. I've seen sharing with the poor from a single dish of food to a deep, embrace those that sometimes occur and feel that life is delivered regardless of whether the other person has strong odors, broken clothes or is combed for the occasion.
  • @Paula-c, thank you for the article, I loved reading it!

    WOW!

I loved to read your opinion on Chávez, particularly since you are from Venezuela. Here in Spain, the media always portray Chávez as evil and insist the people of Venezuela pretty much hate him! I don't really think that's the case, but would love to know what your perception is as to how he is viewed -both inside and outside of your country!

dontmakeitfactual, this country is very polarized, there are people who have much hatred for Chavez, particularly in classes with more money, but it is also true that many people want it, is the poorest people.
What would you like to know in a general or a specific topic?

That pretty much answers it, thank you! <!-- s:) -->:)<!-- s:) --> That's more or less what I thought, that he is more popular among the poorer classes -which in itself is quite a sign if how good a leader he can be.!
