'Simpsons' Bombshell -- The TRUTH About MJ Song!!!
20 minutes ago by TMZ Staff

Michael Jackson hand-picked an MJ voice impersonator to sing the famous "Happy Birthday Lisa" song featured on "The Simpsons" back in 1991 ... this according to Lisa herself, Yeardley Smith.

SImpsons.jpg

Smith was outside the Red O restaurant in L.A. this weekend, when she explained, "[Michael] was not allowed to sing on the show, so he literally hand-picked a guy to sing like him."

During the famous episode, "Stark Raving Dad," Michael provided the voice to a mental patient who thought he was MJ ... but according to reports, Jackson's record label blocked MJ from singing the Lisa birthday song.

MJ ultimately selected a man named Kipp Lennon -- and Yeardley explains, "How unnerving would it be to sing like Michael Jackson in front of Michael Jackson?"

We called Kipp to find out -- so far, no response.

  • TMZ nothing new! <!-- s:lol: -->:lol:<!-- s:lol: --> We knew that for a long time, but how i know the story (and it's written in Wikipedia, we have a whole thread about it <!-- l -->viewtopic.php?f=253&t=18958&hilit=simpsons<!-- l -->) that actually Michael didn't want to sing himself, because he wanted to punk his brothers. He wanted to see if they would recognize that it's not him singing <!-- s:lol: -->:lol:<!-- s:lol: -->.
    But it's very interesting WHY the story has changed and why they posted it now?

    I think TMZ preferred to make this article because this is the episode where there is a newspaper with the article of MJ HOAX. And the article continues as: "Everyone Mad at Local Boy" <!-- s:lol: -->:lol:<!-- s:lol: --> The episode is interesting enough and it gives the clue of the hoax that was going to happen in the next 18 years.

    Did you guys know that Yeardley Smith was in a movie titled The Legend of BIllie Jean? <!-- m -->http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089470/<!-- m -->

    themicHEALproject has been making very interesting videos in reference to this very movie and the possible connections to this movie and this adventure. Here are the videos on this movie:

    [youtube:2jmy426i]

    I would also recommend watching this person's other videos. They are thought provoking. Oh and the last two videos were updated today, the same day as this article. That could be a coincidence...or not. Who knows? I do find it odd that this old story becomes exclusive news at TMZ.

    Do you guys think MJ could have hand picked an impersonator for his latest album "Michael"????
    Maybe he also wanted to punk his brothers...

  • Appearently Michael isn't the only king he likes to impersonate. <!-- selvis_/ -->elvis_/<!-- selvis_/ -->

    He does Elvis well also! I can see why MJ chose him.
  • Kipp Lennon has a great sense of humor too <!-- s:lol: -->:lol:<!-- s:lol: -->

    Apparently, wiki’s page of ‘The Simpsons’ has been modified recently i.e. 27 June 2011. I’m not sure what has been modified exactly. May be this part. Concidence?

    "The first single from the album was the pop rap song "Do the Bartman", performed by Nancy Cartwright and released on November 20, 1990. The song was written by Michael Jackson, although he did not receive any credit.[204] The Yellow Album was released in 1998, but received poor reception and did not chart in any country."

    When you do a search in the imdb.com database for John Jay Smith you are taken to the Michael Jackson imdb page. I wonder if it has always done this or if they updated it after these articles came out. Anybody know?
    Also, when I start typing John Jay Smith into the search box it pops up as a selection as John Jay Smith for Thanks, This Is It (2009). Does anybody know if there was a thanks to John Jay Smith in the credits for TII? Just curious.
