<br />Michael Jackson's Last Tour In Los Angeles <br /><br />[size=12pt]"Michael Jackson's THE IMMORTAL World Tour" makes it way to Southern California[/size]<br /> <br /><br />By Reanna Delgadillo<br /><br /> |  Friday, Nov 25, 2011  |  Updated 2:09 PM PST<br /> <br /><br />The King of Pop and his iconic music will return to Los Angeles when “Michael Jackson THE IMMORTAL World Tour” comes to the Southland at the end of January 2012.<br /><br />“Our goal is not to simply cover Michael, but to take his music to a whole new level,” said Jamie King, tour writer and director.<br /><br />For a few nights, Jackson fans will get to see this production at the Honda Center and Staples Center. The show includes Jackson’s music and choreography with Cirque du Soleil creativity.<br /><br />“It starts with the music,” King said. “Michael’s voice is what drives the show. I have the opportunity to carry on Michael’s legacy, to take all that energy -- all that he was and was going to be -- and build it into this production.”<br /><br />King has toured with Jackson and Prince, and has worked as Madonna’s creative director for the last 12 years.<br /><br />According to organizers, the tour highlights Jackson’s Neverland and the “Giving Tree," a representation of an oak tree at Jackson’s home.<br /><br />The show's creative team help their first meeting at the tree where Jackson “would climb up to seek inspiration and write his songs and poems," King said.<br /><br />The show will include 32 songs along with never-before-heard outtakes and clips. It features 60 international dancers, musicians and acrobats reflecting Jackson’s influential career.<br /><br />Jackson captured audiences around the world since he was a child performing with his family in the Jackson 5. He went on to become a top performer with tours spanning the globe and reaching millions of fans.<br /><br />“Immortal” runs from Dec. 3 to August 22 with two stops in Southern California. On Jan. 24-25, the show will be at the Honda Center then at the Staples Center Jan. 27-29.
