@hesouttamylife - That I do understand, as I died in the OR last November when the Versed & Propofol stopped my heart stopped. I did take a peek on the other side, and that's why I actually came back! I realized I was making a very grave mistake; my work here wasn't done. I also didn't want my comics & toys tossed, as they should be read by children.

We are One, I can vouch for that. But some of us need our Other half, in this physical lifetime. I came back so he didn't pull a Romeo over my Juliette, for my finally just letting go.

You are a true romantic! Love lives forever.

    Guess the angels, or the H.S. itself has been busy - Andy Gibb confounds doctors with his recovery thus far:
London (CNN) -- Singer Robin Gibb has "confounded" his doctors by emerging from a coma just days after they thought he might not survive it, his physician said Sunday.
Days ago, Bee Gees star Gibb was in a coma and battling pneumonia, the latest turn in health issues that include a recent battle with colon and liver cancer. Now he is "fully conscious, lucid and able to speak to his loved ones," Dr. Andrew Thillainayagam said in a statement.
"He is breathing on his own, with an oxygen mask. He is on intravenous feeding and antibiotics. He is of course, exhausted, extremely weak and malnourished. Our immediate goals are to ensure that Robin's swallowing mechanism is safe enough to allow him to eat and drink, and that he recovers enough strength to breathe effectively, without needing high levels of oxygen by mask."
When that happens, he may be moved out of the intensive care unit at the London Clinic, the doctor said.
"It is testament to Robin's extraordinary courage, iron will and deep reserves of physical strength that he has overcome quite incredible odds to get where he is now," Thillainayagam said.
2002: Bee Gees and 'Saturday Night Fever'
The good news comes just three days after Thillainayagam warned Gibb's family "that I feared the worst.," he said. "We felt it was very likely that Robin would succumb to what seemed to be insurmountable obstacles to any form of meaningful recovery. As a team, we were all concerned that we might be approaching the realms of futility."
"The road ahead for Robin remains uncertain but it is a privilege to look after such an extraordinary human being," Thillainayagam said.
Gibb's wife Dwina and children Robin-John, Spencer, and Melissa have been at his bedside every day, the doctor said.

    Am I alone in thinking this coma and miraculous recovery story was written by a certain someone we know and love, but that it never really happened?

    miraculous recovery ? i missed that . seems to me as i have observed in this life that the turn for the worst followed by the sudden improvement is more often then not just before the end. ( sorry if that upsets anyone) it just always feels to me like restoration takes place before we leave this place. just a personal observation. then again i do believe that miracles can take place.

    I watched helplessly as my father slip into a coma - and I pray no one here ever has to go through that nightmare - and fall into renal failure (when the body systematically shuts down), and was gone the next day.

That's why I mentioned as long as Robin doesn't slip into that, he has a fighting chance.

As for the "end?" I'm not God; I shan't pretend to be a soothsayer, and hand out predictions over people's lives. I've oft felt that it really depends on how much pain the person is willing to take - because it's an awful lot.

I've also had a cousin with stage 4 cervical cancer, spontaneously go into remission last year when she was given only months to live.

I used to not believe in miracles - until I saw them with my own eyes. The Spirit of God is quite strong, and is not for us to say what it can, or cannot do. God has no limiter.

@suspicious mind - sometimes that happens, sometimes it doesn't. Regardless, they get to spend time with him AWAKE, and cognizant! Something I was robbed of, with my father. It's priceless, whichever way you slice it.

@gwynned - you're entitled to your thoughts.

• So happy to hear this very good news... I wish Robin full recovery and much love.

@Tink: sorry for the loss of your father and the difficult time you've been through. I hope you've given these memories a place in your heart and you think back peacefully :bearhug:
I am forever grateful for the time this afforded for snuggling up to my Dad and just talking. Everything that needed to be said was said. However, I too hope that Robin just gets stronger and stronger, but if that's not the case, this opportunity to speak to his loved ones is still a blessing.

Tink, part of your comment disappeared!!!! :WTF:

You followed this with a suggestion that my skepticism could lead to health issues and I was going to respond with 'I NEED A DOCTOR!!!' but apparently no need now.

    @gwynned - You don't need a doctor, lol.  :D
