I am visiting the Bay Area and noticed several large billboards in prominent locations that say nothing but the word 'believe' with NO identification as to the source and purpose. The letters are all lower case in red with the last 'e' circled in blue.

I have googled it and asked people about it, but can't seem to find out anything.

Anyone have any more information or have seen them elsewhere?

  • Hi gwynned, I'm in LA, but I haven't seen any billboards like the ones you mentioned. May be they are just coming out now after the Oz movie, since I've read that the word believe is used several times in that movie. I will keep my eyes open for them and if I see any I will surely report here.

I wish I could but I don't live there. I was just there on a visit and didn't think to take a picture because we only saw them from the freeway as we were driving.
  • Now I'm gonna be driving around aimlessly looking for billboards lol! The Bay Area is huge, what city did u see it in?

I saw it at least twice just as I got off the Bay Bridge and headed to the Golden Gate Bridge.

I saw it crossing the Bay Bridge to and from San Francisco.

It's for Powerball. Curious. Is this what the world has come to. That we put our faith, our belief in.....LOTTO! Will there be others besides this author who are a bit offended that a word that carries great meaning should be co-opted by a legitimized casino game which in most cases serves as an additional tax on the poor. Is someone trying to tell us something with this BELIEVE campaign? Or is it just the natural order of things when there's money to be made.
