Joe Jackson was a boxer in the Golden Gloves before working in the steel mills of Indiana. When Joe Jackson did boxing in the Golden Gloves, he probably boxed my great, great uncle known as William (Bill) Wilson if they were both lightweights. Joe Jackson and my uncle Bill boxed around the same time in the Golden Gloves. I have recommended Joseph Walter Jackson to be posthumously inducted into the Golden Gloves Hall of Fame as I think he was a good boxer who had a desire to go professional. God bless.
