Just to add my 2 cents in here. lol I also believe his middle name is legally Joe for a few reasons but the biggest one is that the FBI files (which would have to have the true full name) states that his true full name is Michael Joe Jackson.
For those stating that it could just be a short version, this cannot be legal, no matter how many attorneys tell you that it's ok. If "Michael Joe Jackson" is on his BC, that is what they have to go by for the DC and all other legal documents. My ex stepdad's name is Danny. If he were to fake his death and his DC said "Daniel", and then he was found or decided to come back, he could legally fight that because his BC says, "Danny". Yes, Danny is short for Daniel but Daniel is not his name. Same would apply here. <!-- s:) -->:)<!-- s:) -->
I always thought it was interesting that in the DD in LKL interview, "Michael" says he changed his name to free himself from the confines of his father's legacy, something like that, albeit through the mouth of supposedly DD. Could he be referring to changing from Joseph to Joe or vica versa?
In the court they say JOE, he change his name to JOE, maybe his Birth name was Joseph but he change to JOE. I don´t think that this was related with his father and all that because he is JOE too, if the changed name was to make it different from his father he would chose some other name, i think that the change name is to create confussion <!-- s:roll: -->:roll:<!-- s:roll: -->
