COINTELPRO Redux: New Age Scam Conspiracy

edited January 1970 in General Discussion
I am reading this book called "The Secret History of the World and How to Get Out Alive" by Laura Knight-Jadczyk and she talks about COINTELPRO and the "New Age" religions. I found this interesting and have been reading up on this theory so I thought I would share.

COINTELPRO
COINTELPRO (an acronym for Counter Intelligence Program) was a series of covert, and often illegal, projects conducted by the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) aimed at surveilling, infiltrating, discrediting, and disrupting domestic political organizations.

COINTELPRO tactics included discrediting targets through psychological warfare such as planting false reports in the media, smearing through forged letters, harassment, wrongful imprisonment, and extralegal violence and assassination. Covert operations under COINTELPRO took place between 1956 and 1971, however the FBI has used covert operations against domestic political groups since its inception. The FBI's stated motivation at the time was "protecting national security, preventing violence, and maintaining the existing social and political order."

FBI records show that 85% of COINTELPRO resources targeted groups and individuals that the FBI deemed "subversive," including communist and socialist organizations; organizations and individuals associated with the civil rights movement, including Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and others associated with the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, and the Congress of Racial Equality and other civil rights organizations; black nationalist groups; the American Indian Movement; a broad range of organizations labeled "New Left", including Students for a Democratic Society and the Weathermen; almost all groups protesting the Vietnam War, as well as individual student demonstrators with no group affiliation; the National Lawyers Guild; organizations and individuals associated with the women's rights movement; nationalist groups such as those "seeking independence for Puerto Rico;" and additional notable Americans, such as Dr. Albert Einstein. The remaining 15% of COINTELPRO resources were expended to marginalize and subvert "white hate groups," including the Ku Klux Klan and National States' Rights Party.

FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover issued directives governing COINTELPRO, ordering FBI agents to "expose, disrupt, misdirect, discredit, or otherwise neutralize" the activities of these movements and their leaders.

COINTELPRO Redux: New Age Scam Conspiracy
by JAYE BELDO
The biggest influx of these agents occurred during the blossoming of the "human potential" movement in the early '70s, through such institutions as Esalen. Legions of people threw away their protest banners and followed their bliss during a time when directly addressing the socio-political problems of the day was imperative.

Since then, the emphasis on personal development—and more recently, the You Create Your Own Reality movement—a significant segment of the population has been brainwashed into disdaining all socio-political issues. For what better way to dis-empower people than to have them focus on their personal evolution at the expense of their families, communities, and the countries they live in?

Metaphysical Double-Speak
Probably the most flagrant examples of New Age COINTELPRO are channelers who convey disturbing messages from supposedly highly evolved discarnate entities. For example, when the war in Iraq first started in 2003, a well-known channeller in Santa Fe, NM, who channels the ancient Egyptian goddess Sekhmet, allegedly claimed that the war was an "ultimate expression of [Sekhmet's] compassion for the human race." It would take a considerable amount of gullibility to swallow this kind of nonsense, but swallow it the New Agers did.

With such multidimensional "logic" at hand, practically any injustice, whether torture, environmental destruction, or manipulation of the economy by global powers, can be justified as an act of compassion. This is no different from the theocratic stance of George W. Bush when he said that God told him to invade Iraq! Such metaphysical double-speak is dangerous, yet is nevertheless seeping into popular culture.

Of course, not all channelled are working for the shadow government. Rather, we should use much discernment in regard to channelled information. If channelled information through predictions of global cataclysm, for instance, creates fear and makes us feel ungrounded, unsure, and mistrusting, then it probably is coming from a COINTELPRO source and should be taken with an immense grain of salt.

The Optimism Gestapo
However, perhaps the most insidious aspect of the New Age movement is what I call the Optimism Gestapo, or those who regulate and insist on positive thinking by any means necessary, where any criticism or expression of negative or painful emotions are disdained.

I once brought up to an Ashtar Command "ascencionist" (i.e. someone who believes that extraterrestrials will come and save her), the act that democratic senator Paul Wellstone may have been murdered in order to get republican Norm Coleman elected. Before I could elaborate, she cut me off by saying, "It was just his time." She was intolerant of the fact that I dared interfere with the reality she was creating, free of conspiracy, cutthroat politicians, and skullduggery. And the more I have played devil's advocate with New Agers, the more I have discovered that such intolerance is the norm. For there currently is a belief amongst New Agers that anything negative that one expresses will only further magnetize negativity. However, those who pursue this line of thinking just end up repressing their negative emotions, only to have them burst forth in uncontrollable ways.

As an example, I once was in a massage therapist's office proofreading a manuscript for him. I was reading how he had a deep respect for his Japanese ancestors who originated the massage techniques he used in his practice. The phone rang and I heard him say, "Just dial 911," then slammed the phone down. He then turned to me and explained, "That was my wife. My kid just fell down some stairs. I can't deal with it."

On the surface, the massage therapist conveyed an aura of humaneness and caring, all the while repressing his shadow side, as evidenced by his coldness towards his wife and child. Dr. Carl Jung recognized the danger of such repression and recommended confronting the nether-regions of our psyches—primarily through dream work—as a way of achieving healthy psychological equilibrium.

Anyone seeking a supportive metaphysical community should first ask themselves if their ability to think independently is being compromised. For keeping one's metaphysical radar functioning is most important in a world crawling with "forced cheer" gurus, COINTELPRO channelers, and self-help authors.

New Age COINTELPRO and the Optimism Gestapo
    by Jaye Beldo

Thank you for sharing this! Up front, let me just say, so it won't seem deceptive, that I come from the belief that all channeling is simply honest seekers being deceived by familiar spirits (so called in the Bible; fallen angels who were banished from Heaven and serve only to wreak havoc amongst human beings, by pretending to be the person or personality humans are seeking answers from).

I am content to allow each person to pursue Truth until they discover it for themselves, but I have noticed, that many new age religions are rather superstitious about mentioning anything negative, even if it is the instant truth which must be addressed, as if they don't REALLY believe that positive is more powerful than negative, unless one constantly keeps the negative from being voiced. Thought and speech control is NOT enlightenment. Groupthink is ruling the suppressed individual, at least here, regardless of my personal beliefs.

    This is nothing but fear.

To me, it is like holding a boxing match between Mr. Positive and Mr. Negative, but never letting Mr. Negative into the ring. Now, I am ALL for never letting evil have a voice or force of power. But, I am way more comfortable beating him legally into submission to Good ---not just keeping him seething, and tied up in the cellar, to pounce on some unsuspecting one, the moment Good turns his back...

Also, I am dismayed by the so called religions vying for members, which are not true religion. I wonder if there isn't some alternative motive? This, in itself opens one up to deception. True religion, according to the Bible, is to take care of the poor and orphaned and widowed; people who are abandoned for some reason or another, whom the bottom has fallen out from under them, without any options, and now require some kindness and active assistance, in other words, a hand...OUT.

NOT just a group of people---a club--with a common goal of a certain self-discipline. There is an obligation to other people. It is the heart of the matter.

The government is suspicious of all groups gathering together under the name "religion", because the government is afraid of ANY large gathering of people over an ideology or discipline, which most people assume the word "religion" means. They don't monitor health clubs, because no one is calling their ideology a religion, even though some do say they work out religiously <!-- s;) -->;)<!-- s;) --> . The government is NEVER afraid of physical strength; they have weaponry to neutralize THAT.

The MOST POWERFUL, dangerous thing on earth is an IDEA. <!-- s:mrgreen: --><!-- s:mrgreen: --> NO one is able to read your mind, unless you speak it, but they do their best to CHANGE your mind by planting ideas there.

You may bet your life that SOMEone is monitoring the Army of Love, here, as well, AND flinging <!-- s:? -->:?<!-- s:? --> erroneous thought our way....

It has been known since the beginning, that it is discipline, and not talent or great inspiration, which propels someone to the top --king-ruler of the mountain, taker of all the marbles...which is the reasoning behind the military, and all like organizations. It is the reason people JOIN "religions"---to have everything which is required of them be spoon-fed to them from a neat little box. "Do this, Do that. Do Not do this or that." Say this pre-written prayer once a day. Give a certain percent of all you have away to your group. Wear this item on your body". It seems to be a good thing that you know all your obligations have been met. It is very closed ended and neat.

But God said that there are only TWO things required of us and those are very open ended, almost dictating that the soldier of Love is somewhat "on call" as in a regular human army. It can be inconvenient, if one is very self-involved (speaking from past experience, here, <!-- s:oops: --><!-- s:oops: --> <!-- s:roll: --><!-- s:roll: --> ) It is not neat and your obligation is NOT completed, necessarily, after the sun sets. Oh, but what an adventure <!-- s:!: -->:!:<!-- s:!: --> <!-- s:!: -->:!:<!-- s:!: --> <!-- s:D -->:D<!-- s:D --> . What a privilege. To be certain you did something right. Something necessary. Something good. Something Loving.

The TWO things are not burdensome: Love God most of all, and love your neighbor (anyone who lives in the Earth-hood with you) as yourself.

Alright, admittedly it is easier said than done. But it GETS easier AS one SEEKs the Lord. It is our only job here, to seek first God, as king of the earth--ask Him, what the plan is for the day, to conquer evil wherever we find it, with His good... Sometimes He won't have anything specific to “mention” (to heart-tug you when the time comes.). He's not your personal fortune teller. I don't mean that ANYone hears things like that. I mean, He will reveal YOUR part, AS IT COMES UP, in any situation which comes up in your day, IF He wants you to DO something there... It is MAGICAL, this communication between HIM and your heart, who is his friend.

Our job is just to trust and obey. Trust Him that you will be given what you need, to fill the need you find. To clean up puke without embarrassing the puker; to serve in helping relieve catastrophic suffering, even if only with some money; to walk the neighbor's dog when she broke her hip, so she doesn't have to give him up while she heals... We also must trust Him for our own personal development and enlightenment. It is in taking this upon ourselves, withOUT His Word and Spirit, that we also open the door to deception.

God's plans for each of us are very personal, INDIVIDUAL plans. Yet people keep formalizing themselves into herds. It is easier to float. To get credit for group activities and simply hide in the background, or do what THEY are doing. It may be a right thing, but is it the obedient thing? The thing God wants YOU to be doing. To let the group decide what you kinda sorta think mostly, too.

It would be a good thing for me to come and clean out your closets for the winter. But if you didn't ASK me to, it is a completely evil thing---tossing things out without your direction and permission. There is ORDER in the Kingdom. We can tell ourselves we are, but we cannot be truly happy unless we are IN order.
COINTELPRO tactics included discrediting targets through psychological warfare such as planting false reports in the media, smearing through forged letters, harassment, wrongful imprisonment, and extralegal violence and assassination.

THIS may be one reason MJ is undercover, now. No sense at all in being the sole target, especially since it won't help the cause if he REALLY dies. I believe the Truth is at stake, here, and even if MJ turns out to be way somewhat less of a hero than I've made him to be in my mind all these months, I know he is no FOOL. <!-- s;) -->;)<!-- s;) --> <!-- s:) -->:)<!-- s:) --> <!-- s:ugeek: -->:ugeek:<!-- s:ugeek: -->

They know this. That it is easier to convince a group than an individual, of anything. Psychological warfare was made for crowds focused around some limited ideology which actually defines the group. Change one thing and they'll ALL change.

NOT saying this is ok. Just saying, it is predictable. By joining a group, one places some kind of target <!-- s:? -->:?<!-- s:? --> <!-- s:? -->:?<!-- s:? --> on their own back. By joining a so called New Age or any new religious group, one places one's self on the newly formed terrorist watch list.

Yeah, this is wrong. But, now, it just IS. <!-- s:x -->:x<!-- s:x -->

No one can call themselves “NEW” except the NEW WORLD ORDER, and have any reasonable expectation of peace in their lives. I'm really not trying to preach, especially to anyone individually. God told us this kind of government was coming. He said to be wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove. Just saying I am clinging to Him.

When we NEED to join a group, we usually are prepared for that challenge. But joining any group—even something as benign and non-combative as self-enlightenment---WILL cause someone to challenge your right to exist, when your numbers raise a red flag.

If you are NOT thinking for yourself, here, WHY risk your freedom and your peace of mind—and sometimes your very life? Extra-legal violence and assassinations are a regular part of life, now. If you ARE thinking for yourself and joined on a purpose of your OWN, then no amount of groupthink will rattle you as the government messes with your group psychologically. But is is worth the cost? I think that even people who think for themselves join groups for validation, that they ARE thinking the right thing...but NO one can tell you that. Well, except maybe God, if you are willing to believe <!-- s;) -->;)<!-- s;) --> <!-- s:) -->:)<!-- s:) --> him.

The book you mentioned sounds like a page turner! I will check this out.
