Adam Sandler and Charlie Sheen have had to confirm they are alive after being caught up in internet death rumours over the holidays.
Two And A Half Men star Charlie, 45, was reported by several blogs to have died in a snowboarding accident on December 26 after rumours began on Twitter, claiming he "lost control of his snowboard and struck a tree at a high rate of speed
But Charlie's ex-wife Denise Richards, with whom he has two daughters Sam and Lola, tweeted: "The rumour about Charlie Sheen is not true. He is alive and on his way over to see his daughters. Thank u all for your concern..."
Twitter rumours claimed Wedding Singer star Adam was vacationing at the Zermatt ski resort in Zermatt, Switzerland where he allegedly hit a tree and died instantly.
A representative for the star said: "It's completely not true and such irresponsible journalism."
Aretha Franklin was wrongly reported to have died on Christmas Day.
A spokesperson for the singer, who underwent surgery earlier this month, slammed the reports, saying: "Aretha is fine".
Reports of Aretha's death may have been mixed-up with the death of singer Teena Marie, who was frequently described as the Ivory Queen of Soul, at the weekend. Aretha is known as the Queen of Soul.
It was also rumoured former child star Aaron Carter, younger brother of Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, had died in a house fire.
But Aaron took to Twitter himself to reassure fans: "This is the real Aaron Carter I know there's a Hoax Going Around, But I'm Here, Alive & Well. At the compound Working on my mind & soul."
