Repeated calls to Murdoch’s office by American Free Press to inquire about what he may have known or suspected about the possibility of such an attack were not returned.[/dropshadow:porevt1i] THE LONE GUNMAN On March 4, 2001, Fox TV, a branch of Murdoch’s media empire, broadcast the pilot episode of a “spin-off” series based on characters from the popular Fox program “X-Files”. The short-lived series was called “The Lone Gunman.” A Murdoch-owned company called Canadian Millennium Productions, Ltd. (News Corp. owns 83 percent), produced the pilot episode for “The Lone Gunman” in Vancouver, Canada, and New York City from March 20 to April 7, 2000. The title “The Lone Gunman” refers to a Washington-based government watchdog news weekly, not unlike the court-killed SPOTLIGHT and the American Free Press. The show’s main characters are the investigative reporters who produce the paper. The pilot episode of “The Lone Gunman” depicted the hijacking of a passenger aircraft by a hostile computer hacker who takes control of the plane computer flight system and directs it to fly into one of the towers of the World Trade Center. The climactic sequence shows the plane heading straight for one of the twin towers, but thanks to the efforts of the crew of “The Lone Gunman” and the powerful “Octium” computer chip, the pilots are able to regain control of the plane at the last second and avoid the building by inches. The pilots do not swerve away from the tower but pull the plane up in a steep climb. In a memorable scene full of suspense the plane narrowly missed the tower. The background footage for the plane’s approach to the WTC was actually filmed during the spring of 2000 by a special aerial crew that used a helicopter flying low over Manhattan on a night flight toward the twin towers. Despite the uncanny similarities between the Murdoch-produced film and the horrific reality of 9/11, rather than being discussed in the media as a prescient warning of the possibility of such an attack, the pilot episode of “The Lone Gunman” series seemed to have been quietly forgotten. While an estimated 13.2 million Fox TV viewers are reported to have watched the pilot episode of “The Lone Gunman”, broadcast on March 4, 2001, when life imitated art just six months later on 9/11, no one in the media seemed to recall the program. NO ONE NOTICED “I woke up on September 11 and saw it on TV and the first thing I thought of was The Lone Gunmen,” Frank Spotnitz, one of the program’s four executive producers said. “But then in the weeks and months that followed, almost no one noticed the connection.” Frank Spotnitz, John Shiban, Vince Gilligan, and Chris Carter are listed as executive producers of the program. Shiban is also listed as a writer and creator of the pilot episode. “What’s disturbing about it to me is, you think as a fiction writer that if you can imagine this scenario, then the people in power in the government who are there to imagine disaster scenarios can imagine it, too,” Spotnitz said. Robert McLachlan, director of photography, received an award from the Canadian Society of Cinematographers on March 31, 2001 for his camera work on the pilot episode. “It was odd that nobody referenced it,” McLachlan told American Free Press about the uncanny similarities between “The Lone Gunman” pilot episode he filmed and the horrific reality of 9/11. “You’re the first person who mentioned it,” he said. “In the ensuing press nobody mentioned that [9/11] echoed something that had been seen before.” AFP asked McLachlan about who supervised the production of the pilot program. “John Shiban was primarily the creator,” McLachlan said, adding, “Chris Carter was not there.” Carter is well known for his production of the “X-Files.” “It’s their baby,” Carter said earlier about “The Lone Gunmen.” Carter reportedly had “a minor part” in the production. Wow - this is a real eye opener. I had no idea about the leasing of the building and the insurance policies taken out which include terrorist attack. Hmmm....and Michael was supposed to have a meeting in one of those buildings on the top floor the morning of 9/11. Thank God he was too tired to go. I'll believe that it was God's divine intervention that kept Michael away that morning.

I would love to believe that Michael is at the heart of this take down but may I'm a dreamer. If he is couldn't he be a bigger target (for revenge) if he comes back?

While the following article doesn't look at Murdoch's pre-911 involvement, there are allegations about his activity post-911...specifically his alleged desire to hack into 911 victims' phones.

9/11 Victim Hacking Allegation is Questionable

An allegation that reporters for Rupert Murdoch’s now-defunct News of the World tried to steal personal information from the phones of victims of the 9/11 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center is generating considerable smoke but no fire.

This is because the allegation rests entirely on a July 11 story in The Daily Mirror, a News of the World rival, based on an unnamed former New York City police office turned private investigator anonymous that the Murdoch tabloid tried to bribe an NYPD officer to help hack the phones of the victims, especially Brit0ns.

As flimsy as that thread may be, the FBI has launched a preliminary inquiry — as opposed to a full-blown investigation — of the allegation at the request of Representative Peter King, the New York Republican, and several other members of Congress, but absent that police officer coming forward if in fact a bribe attempt was made, it is difficult to see how investigators can get any footing.

Although Murdoch’s News Corp. share price has plummeted, 10 of his former minions have been arrested in the U.K. for their alleged role in widespread phone hacking, he and his son have reluctantly agreed to appear before Parliament today and the head of Scotland Yard is among the government heads to roll, the scandal has had little impact in the U.S.

But all that would change — and change dramatically — if the 9/11 victim allegation is found to be credible.

If so, News Corp. is almost certainly vulnerable to illegal wiretapping and wire fraud charges, and while there are weighty jurisdictional and statute-of-limitations issues to iron out, it is unlikely that U.S. prosecutors would defer to authorities in the U.K.

As former federal prosecutor Jeffrey H. Cramer has noted, “9/11 victims are held dear. ” Even if the allegation were true but prosecutors were unable to move forward because of the statute of limitations, it would be an extraordinary public relations disaster for Murdoch, even as shameless as he has proven to be over a long career built on media outlets that specialize in sleaze and misinformation.

It is difficult to avoid the conclusion that Murdoch is evil. Here is a man who keeps on a close associate who is the key player in the hacking scandal and is now under arrest, while firing dozens of reporters who are now unemployed.

In the past, Murdoch and News Corp. have made their myriad legal problems go away by paying multi-million dollar judgments and, in the process, silencing their critics. The New York Times reports that in the case of News America Marketing, its profitable in-store and newspaper insert marketing business, News Corp. has paid out a staggering $655 million over corporate espionage and anticompetitive behavior charges.

But this time no amount of lucre will do the job. And if the 9/11 victim allegation is true, Murdoch will be toast in his adopted country.

But I am also 2000 watts removed from any naivete concerning any government officials' 'concern' about us...they don't care about us...remember that tune whenever any 'official' touts to give a shit about you.

I want to commend you on your comments. When I saw Mr King's name I had to calm my emotions too. I remember well what he said (as do most others, I'm sure) and I appreciate that you didn't spread his filth by posting his comments. I also wrote a letter in response to his inexcusable behavior towards Michael soon after June 25, 2009. I agree with you wholeheartedly on all counts.

Wouldn't it be great if this loud mouthed King is silenced in the future if it turns out Michael has a hand in bringing this wicked empire to the ground?

Something tells me that Mr. King et al are trying to cover their asses over any future info that may come out about them as a result of Murdoch's activities and 'ties'. Murdoch had the British govt and police force in his pocket...and I'm sure his pockets were big enough to hold some US 'coin' as well.

Good info here! I agree that many "are trying to cover their asses", in a every man for himself panic scene. The pot was lifted and all the bugs are scurrying for cover. And don't some carnivores eat their own wounded? Years ago I knew about Larry Silverstein having recently purchased the twin towers and taking out insurance, profiting, hauling away the scrap metal hurriedly to I think China, before any of it could even be examined forensically. He's also the one who said let's "pull" building #7 which then imploded exactly like the first 2 which were not rigged supposedly but hit by an aircraft. Then some media reported that #7 had fallen on their own. Stupid chicken media.

Murdoch’s international media network owns more than 175 newspapers and magazines on three continents, publishes 40 million papers a week and dominates the newspaper markets in Britain, Australia and New Zealand. A “close friend” of the accused Israeli war criminal and prime minister Ariel Sharon, Murdoch and his media network are well known for supporting Israel’s right-wing Likud Party and the Anglo-American “war on terrorism.” Less well known, however, is the fact that Murdoch produced a television program in 2000, which predicted with uncanny accuracy the attacks of 9/11. He is also closely connected to the two individuals who leased, and then insured the WTC property – and their future earnings – against precisely such an attack. The short-lived series was called “The Lone Gunman.” A Murdoch-owned company called Canadian Millennium Productions, Ltd. (News Corp. owns 83 percent), produced the pilot episode for “The Lone Gunman” in Vancouver, Canada, and New York City from March 20 to April 7, 2000. The title “The Lone Gunman” refers to a Washington-based government watchdog news weekly, not unlike the court-killed SPOTLIGHT and the American Free Press. The show’s main characters are the investigative reporters who produce the paper. The pilot episode of “The Lone Gunman” depicted the hijacking of a passenger aircraft by a hostile computer hacker who takes control of the plane computer flight system and directs it to fly into one of the towers of the World Trade Center. The climactic sequence shows the plane heading straight for one of the twin towers, but thanks to the efforts of the crew of “The Lone Gunman” and the powerful “Octium” computer chip, the pilots are able to regain control of the plane at the last second and avoid the building by inches. The pilots do not swerve away from the tower but pull the plane up in a steep climb. In a memorable scene full of suspense the plane narrowly missed the tower. The background footage for the plane’s approach to the WTC was actually filmed during the spring of 2000 by a special aerial crew that used a helicopter flying low over Manhattan on a night flight toward the twin towers. Despite the uncanny similarities between the Murdoch-produced film and the horrific reality of 9/11, rather than being discussed in the media as a prescient warning of the possibility of such an attack, the pilot episode of “The Lone Gunman” series seemed to have been quietly forgotten. While an estimated 13.2 million Fox TV viewers are reported to have watched the pilot episode of “The Lone Gunman”, broadcast on March 4, 2001, when life imitated art just six months later on 9/11, no one in the media seemed to recall the program. NO ONE NOTICED “I woke up on September 11 and saw it on TV and the first thing I thought of was The Lone Gunmen,” Frank Spotnitz, one of the program’s four executive producers said. “But then in the weeks and months that followed, almost no one noticed the connection.” Frank Spotnitz, John Shiban, Vince Gilligan, and Chris Carter are listed as executive producers of the program. Shiban is also listed as a writer and creator of the pilot episode. “What’s disturbing about it to me is, you think as a fiction writer that if you can imagine this scenario, then the people in power in the government who are there to imagine disaster scenarios can imagine it, too,” Spotnitz said. Robert McLachlan, director of photography, received an award from the Canadian Society of Cinematographers on March 31, 2001 for his camera work on the pilot episode. “It was odd that nobody referenced it,” McLachlan told American Free Press about the uncanny similarities between “The Lone Gunman” pilot episode he filmed and the horrific reality of 9/11. “You’re the first person who mentioned it,” he said. “In the ensuing press nobody mentioned that [9/11] echoed something that had been seen before.” AFP asked McLachlan about who supervised the production of the pilot program. “John Shiban was primarily the creator,” McLachlan said, adding, “Chris Carter was not there.” Carter is well known for his production of the “X-Files.” “It’s their baby,” Carter said earlier about “The Lone Gunmen.” Carter reportedly had “a minor part” in the production. The explosion resulted in six persons being killed, and more than 1,000 being injured; and resulted in nearly $300 million in property damage. 1 The explosion was caused by a 1500-pound urea-nitrate bomb, packed in a yellow Ford Econoline rental van, and detonated with a timer after the van had been parked in the basement parking garage. The explosion created a crater 200 feet by 100 feet wide and several stories deep. Evacuation of the twin towers began after the blast. Most of the injuries were due to smoke inhalation. After the bombing, large improvements in the evacuation procedures for the Twin Towers were implemented. Assigning Blame A few days after the attack, the FBI arrested Mohammed A. Salameh and his friend Nidal Ayyad as prime suspects. Salameh had been traced through a fragment of metal at the scene with the serial number of a Ford Econoline van belonging to a Jersey City Ryder rental agency. On March 4, 1994, a jury convicted four defendants on all 38 counts against them. On February 7, 1995, Pakistani authorities arrested Ramsi Yousef and extradited him to the United States. On January 8, 1998, Yousef was sentenced to 240 years in prison. No forensic evidence or eyewitness testimony was produced to place any of the suspects at the scene of the crime. Salameh had reported the van stolen to Jersey City police the day before the bombing. He was unable to provide the license plate number, having left the rental documents in the van. He also reported the theft to the rental agency, and attempted to retrieve his $400 deposit. On the day of the bombing he again telephoned the rental agency and obtained the license plate number. He then filed a second report with the police, this time with the plate number. 2 Damage and Repair Despite the size of the explosion, it only damaged one support column for the Twin Towers. The towers were attacked (inside job) to put fear and chaoes into people so that the people would agree to go to war against afghanistan. The true reason to the war: Money and Power. They are doin it to all middle east. if they protest they kill them (them as in the military controlled by the elite, this include all military around the whole world). ALOT of what is happening down there is NOT mentioned in media. (I have family there so I know) The military kidnap people who protest from their homes, they get tortured some even die, this includes children, youth, parents, older people. Even disabled people. These protesters use WORDS and the military use VIOLENCE. All the protesters want is PEACE and freedom. The people in the middle east have been awake for so long and see the corruption and they are tired and want it to stop so they go out and protest, they want a CHANGE. So ofcourse the american government will use Osama bin Laden, a muslim, as the fall guy for this. Blame the muslims and the middle east, as an excuse to also kill most of them. NO PRESIDENT will ever take the military out of there, do not trust there politicians and presidents, they are corrupt! No one stopped the attack because it was planned and it was welcomed.
