Tonight`s story is somewhat unique and calls for a different kind of introduction
A monster had arrived in the village
The major ingredient of any recipe for fear is the unknown
And this person or thing is soon to be met

I forgot to introduce you to the monster.
A monster? You might think the monster is evil, but IMO the monster is Mike and he is not threatening a person in particular. This song is a warning and he just took action a few months ago.

Who is fearing Mike? Not the fans, not the majority of the public. So who should be threatened by him? That will be the people that tried to bring him down. They know he's a beast, they know he gets up everytime they try to bring him down. He fights back and he is not just someone, so they should feel threatened. "I'm the floor when you fall"...the floor is the thing that kills you when you fall of a buillding, not the fall itself. "I'm the living dead, the dark thoughts in your head"....they are already fearing him and now he became the living dead, so they should feel threatened by him. "I know just what you said"....I know your lies and schemes, I know you have been doing and I know your plans and I won't allow you to do any more harm, so you should feel threatened by me.

Everytime your public speaks up about things that are not right, things that make them feel threatened, Mike does hear them. He will speak up for them.

Be in two places at the same time" Well that's something he is good at, like with the signing of the 2002 Will, he was in NY and in LA...hmmm, or wasn't he? This monster can read minds, can he? Or does he have help? The monster knows things 'they' don't want him to know, that's for sure.

nightmare. It isn`t. It`s the beginning
It's the beginning of their nightmare. Mike does not only threaten them, he takes action. He did disappear, he is the living dead and he is about to prevail the truth. And they should feel threatened by him....

They underestimated him?
Interesting too that he used the intro for this song as the closing for "Thriller" in TII. This caught my attention and I pondered it for a while. I was thinking it was the similarities (Rod Serling /VP voices) "Monsters" theme...but really I couldnt connect that because "Ghost" was more like a new THriller and the setting for "Thriller" on TII was more like "Ghost" so why not use "Ghost"? Didnt make sense..and he is controlling the zombies.
Giving a warning to the enemy to look out for your attacks. Quite strange. <!-- s:? -->:?<!-- s:? --> He must know the villains are so arrogant and convinced of their own power that they would ignore any kind of red flag. They feel firmly that he is in his clutches. He's saying don't be so sure.
Who is this lady? Maybe it is the fans and the majority of the public. In their arrogance they think this woman is their lady, who they believe they have the attention of and control over. They think they have fooled this lady into believe their negative distortion of Michael is true.
Yet, everytime this lady speaks she speaks to Michael. She doesn't speak to the lies? She looks to Michael for what's true? She doesn't even acknowledge the villian.
Who is threaten? Is he saying the villian should be threaten by this lady speaking to him? Or is the lady under threat from the villian and speaks to Michael only? Why would your lady speak only to another man? <!-- s:? -->:?<!-- s:? -->
And another theme is the surveillance/insight he has in their dealings. He knows their fears, emotions, thoughts, what their doing, when their doing is, where they are, where they are going.
So, while they think he is in their grip, are they really in his?

SOuza great analysis of one of my favorites! I have often thought about this song.. especially the "two places at the same time"part.. but I just never sat down to actually think about it! I definitly think the last line is significant to... we think it is the end (death)... but its really the beginning (if he comes back)!

I think that when he says your lady; he could be talking about either America's lady, Lady Liberty or the world's lady, Mother Nature. Not sure which but I think those two could be the lady in this.
Could you explain why you think he is refering to Lady Liberty or Mother Nature?
Well I think the song threatened is about the media, possibly the government, the music industry. Anyone that has harmed Michael maliciously because he was a threat to their agenda. So I think he speaks about freedom, liberty, mother nature (earth) with love which may go against their agenda so they would be threatened because the lady (liberty and earth) speaks to him in a loving way and he has the power to project that love and idealism of liberty on a grander scale than most people. I think it could also be in reference to the reasons behind this whole experience with his comments about the government in Earth Song in the movie and his constant message of L.O.V.E.
