He got flat baby
Kick in the back baby
A heart attack baby
I need your body

A hot kiss honey
He's just a bitch baby
You make me sick baby
So unrelying

I'm such a swine baby
All down the line daddy
I hate your kind baby
So unreliable

A hot buzz baby
He's one of us baby
Another drug baby
You so desire

Trust in me
Trust in me
Put all your trust in me
You're doin' morphine

Hoo!

They got place baby
Kicked in the face baby
You hate your race baby
You're just a liar

Your every lick baby
Your dog's a bitch baby
You make me sick baby
You soul survivor

She never cut from me
She never cut baby
I had to work baby
You just a rival

Always to please daddy
Right up and leave daddy
You're thorwing shame daddy
So undesirable

Trust in me
Just in me
Put all your trsut in me
You're doin' morphine

Go'on babe

Relax
This won't hurt you
Before I put it in
Close your eyes and count to ten
Don't cry
I won't convert you
There's no need to dismay
Close your eyes and drift away

Demerol
Demerol
Oh God he's taking demerol
Demerol
Demerol
Oh God he's taking demerol

He's tried
Hard to convince her
To be over what he had
Today he wants it twice as bad
Don't cry
I won't resent you
Yesterday you had his trust
Today he's taking twice as much

Demerol
Demerol
Oh God he's taking demerol
Hee-hee-hee
Demerol
Demerol
Oh my Oh God it's Demerol
Hee
Oooh

Oh!

He got shit baby
Your dog's a bitch baby
You make me sick baby
You are a liar

Is truth a game daddy
To win the fame baby
It's all the same baby
You're so reliable

Trust in me
Trust in me
Put all your trust in me
She's doin' morphine

Hoo!

You just sit around just talkin' nothing
You're takin' morphine
Hoo!
Go'on baby
You just sit around just talking about it
You're takin' morphine
Hoo-hoo!
Just sit around just talking nothing about it
You're takin' morphine
You just sit around just talking about it
You're taking morphine
You just sit around just talkin' nothin'
And takin' morphine

Hoo-hoo
I'm going down baby
You're talkin' Morphine

Go'on baby!
Hoo!
Hoo!
Morphine!
Do it!
Hoo!
He's takin' morphine
Morphine!
Morphine so why was michael eerily singing about demerol in 1997 was he addicted then or was it a cry for help?

I think Michael was already thinking about faking his death at that time. In this song you have a "heart attack" due to drug abuse. This is what's supposed to have happened to Michael.

In the song you can also hear noises of a medical device (bips monitoring) the voice of a woman who says something like "did you hear what the doctor said ?". Reminds us of the hoax again.

"I need your body" = some think that a real death has been used from a dying person who looked like Michael and who accepted a deal to help Michael. Don't know if it's true but this sentence indicate that a body is needed to fake a heart attack ? Makes me think of something...

    "A hot buzz baby
    He's one of us baby
    Another drug baby
    You so desire "

This part makes me think of Dr Murray who is surely part of the hoax and is the now famous Dr. who administered this new "drug" which is Propofol.

    "You hate your race baby
    You're just a liar "

Some ignorant people said Michael didn't like being black and made everything to become white. Which is totally false of course. This is just lies.

    "She never cut from me
    She never cut baby
    I had to work baby
    You just a rival "

If "she" is the fans then yes the fans are still with Michael and never cut from him even after false allegations and all gossips. Michael had to work for that and consider his enemis nor more than rivals, he does not fear them.

"You just sit around just talkin' nothing
    You're takin' morphine
    Hoo!
    Go'on baby
You just sit around just talking about it
    You're takin' morphine
    Hoo-hoo!
Just sit around just talking nothing about it
    You're takin' morphine
You just sit around just talking about it
    You're taking morphine
You just sit around just talkin' nothin'
    And takin' morphine"

People just believe what they're being told by the medias without questionning, they're taking morphine, they just sit around talking about it but they know nothing, surely not the truth. Morphine is the insidious lie which is keeping people asleep.

Well this is just a few of my interpretations, I may be completely wrong !

    God Bless You
  • Well said Sarahli "-Morphine is the insidious lie which is keeping people asleep".
I believe this to be symbolic of humanity being put under mass hypnosis by feeding us total lies, I think many are starting to see this now and are coming round.

I found it odd they used this song in the trailers/leaders of dutch television show "My name is michael". The emphasize was on the slow part where MJ sang about demerol...

As far as I now, this song has never been officially released as a single. It's a song not many people know who are only MJ fan after his death.

I don't know if it means anything, but it sounded strange to me. They could have used so many songs in that place...

Yes sure that's weird but it depends on the aim of the people who made this show. Maybe they wanted to make a connection with Michael's supposed cause of "death". If it's that it's not really good <!-- s:cry: --><!-- s:cry: -->
  • In the song doesn't it sound like in the background it's the 911 call!!!
At about 4:17? Because it sounds like it to me a little if it were clearer <!-- s:? -->:?<!-- s:? -->

  • This song is VERY intriguing. You can listen to it here, and I would encourage you to do so a few times (if you haven't):

    Here's my take on it:

The song is NOT about literal addiction to morphine or any drugs, as some believe.
There are 2 distinct parts, the second one having a different melody and being about "Oh God he's taking Demerol". It starts with "Relax..." at 2:49. Later on lines from both 1st and 2nd part mingle, with the 1st part "engulfing" the 2nd one. The refrain "Trust in me / Put all your trust in me" is sung in an emotional, pleading voice that jumped out at me, because it's so different from the rest of the song and has a different vibe. I'm tempted to interpret this song as Michael's message to the fans that if we ever hear of him dying of drug/morphine/Demerol overdose, we shouldn't believe it (hence his pleading: "trust in me'). The other lyrics in part 1 sound to me like what two conspirators (a man and a woman) might say while talking over the body of a man they murdered. Example: "He got flat baby / Kick in the back baby / A heart attack baby" and "He's just a bitch baby." Lines such as "You make me sick baby" could be addressed to the dead man... Part 2 could be the story that gets released to the media and that people start repeating, about "he's taking Demerol" and the reasons he might be.

MJ never made a video for this song (I wonder why?), but try to make one in your head. What would it look like? For me, it would be a Tarantino-type movie where - as I said above - a man and a woman kill a guy and talk over his dead body. Then the media chatter plays this story of addiction and how the guy died because of Demerol...

I'm not sure if ALL the lyrics fit into the scenario I envision... Something that puzzles me is in part 2 of the song:
"HE's tried hard to convince HER
To be over what HE had
Today HE wants it twice as bad
    Don't cry / I won't resent you
    Yesterday you had HIS trust
Today HE's taking twice as much
    Demerol"

This points to addiction because of some sort of romantic dissapointment or something like that... But again, I see it as part of the fictional story that the media would say and which is superseded by the real story which starts in part 1 of the song. The TONE of the song has a dark (noir), angry, conspiratorial air to it and if MJ were to write a song about REAL drug addiction, I think it would sound different...

    I'd be curious to hear other opinions. <!-- s:) -->:)<!-- s:) -->

I've listened to the song many times, love the rythem and beat. What confuses me is the constant change in first, second and third person. Your thoughts are good, and bring it prophetically to Doctor Murray and MJ's real death by Propofol.

He got flat baby = there were rumours that Michaels veins collapsed and became flat so he couldnt be injected in his arms.. remember that??

Kick in the back = a kick back; someone is being paid

    A heart attack = literal

i need your body = it was someone elses body in the ambo, hospital, morgue, etc

This part of the song makes me cry. The backround has someone criying, a respiratory machine and a call......But also, I find it very healing and I tell you why.

Dayum, you peeps are such great thinkers! Great summaries- all I know is that if I didn't know I'd read these lyrics and go, "All right, Lady GaGa, good luck on the new single", ROFL!

To me when he sings "Demerol, Demerol.. oh god he's taking demerol... hee, hee, heee"

Its almost sarcastic.. like he is laughing at the thought.. thats what he wants people to believe, and everyone is freaking out that he is taking Dermerol and he is just sitting back and laughing.

This song is one of the keys to me.. if MJ is dead then he was psychic. No other explanation

Then he's pleading trust in me.

My thoughts at the beginning were it was the doctor who was saying to Michael, "relax... just put your trust in me.. i wont convert you (i wont get you addicted)"

    OR

Its Michael making a direct plea to US to trust HIM.

    Hmmm... so many layers.

I think it's totally him telling us to trust him. That body part is such a giveaway!

I agree with you, DTD. Actually the whole song is in a sense sarcastic. He's telling what people believe about him. You hate your race, you're just a liar, you hate your kind, you're throwing shame, are all rumors and lies about him, and he is including the "Oh my, its Demerol <!-- s:o -->:o<!-- s:o --> Michael Jackson is a morphine addict" rumor also.
  • does anyone have a music program to strip his lyrics where all we hear is the music??..that way we can hear more of what all is going on in the background..
