Does anybody know who this might be?

A long time ago (80s perhaps?) there was a man who was always with Michael. I don't remmeber his name, but he always wore a Fidora type hat, only not black in color. And he looked to be in his 40s or perhaps 50s. He also looked like he was very light in color, but looked to be African American.
I don't know if he was a personal assistant, a body guard, a manager or what. But I never see him anymore, and never see him on shows for interviews or anything. He may have even passed away.
Just wondering if anybody knows who I am talking about and if so, what happened to him?
