My cousin shared this song with me yesterday and I haven't been able to stop listening to it. She said when she heard it, she thought of Michael Jackson. So I thought I'd give it a listen. She said to make sure and watch the video. Here's the link to that: [youtube:398tckeg]

The Band Perry - If I Die Young

if i die yound bury me in satin
lay me down on a bed of roses
sink me in the river at dawn
send me away with the words of a love song
ooh ooh ooh ooh

lord make me a rainbow i'll shine down on my mother
shes knows i'm safe with you and she stands under my colors
oh and life aint always what you think it ought to be
no it aint even grey but she burries her baby
the sharp knife of a short life
well i've had just enough time

if i die young burry me satin
lay me down on a bed of roses
sink me in the river at dawn
send me away with the words of a love song
the sharp knife of a short life
well, i have just enough time

and i'll be wearing white
when i come into your kingdom
i'm as green as the ring on my little cold finger
well i've never known the love of man
but it sure felt nice when he was holdin my hand
there's a boy here in town
who says he'll love me forever
who would have thought forever could be severed
by a sharp knife of a short life
well i've had just enough time

so put on your best boys, and i'll wear my pearls
what i never did is done
a penny for my thoughts oh no i'll sell em for a dollar
theyre worth so much more after i'm a gonner
and maybe then you'll hear the words that i've been singin'
its funny when your dead how people start listenin'
<!-- s:shock: -->:shock:<!-- s:shock: -->

if i die young burry me in satin
lay me down on a bed of roses
sink me in the river at dawn
send me away with the words of a love song
ooh ooh the ballad of a dove
go with peace and love
gather up your tears and keep them in your pocket
save em for a time when your really gonna need em.
oh the sharp knife of a short life
well i've had just enough time
so put on your best boys, and i'll wear my pearls

And then we see at the end of the video the story of "The Lady Of Shalott"...which includes Lancelot and King Arthur. Which reminds me of that MJ portrait as King Arthur...

And another interesting thing about this video.. is at the end you can see it was done by Universal Republic Records... which was mentioned in a TMZ article about that company filing a lawsuit against Michael Jackson for using R. Kelly's song in one of his televised interviews.

And here's a video of the band explaining the story behind the song. I found it interesting when the female singer talks about how certain songs feel like they "fall from the heavens"...reminds me a lot of how Michael talked about songwriting.

I'm starting to truly believe everything is connected, and perhaps not all of it is meant to be explained.

Sorry this post is rather sloppy. It's late and past my bedtime <!-- s:lol: --><!-- s:lol: -->

Hope you enjoy the song as much as I do! It's beautiful.
