This story is not directly linked to Michael Jackson but I think it is part of his message because when I went to the original story which TMZ links in their articles about this I read a couple things that jumped out at me.

An actor who appeared on "Ugly Betty" was taken into custody in Brooklyn this morning for allegedly killing his mother with a 3-foot long samurai sword while screaming biblical passages.
According to the police, the suspect -- Michael Brea -- sliced his mother's head off during the attack.
When cops arrived to the scene around 2:20 AM, officers say Brea was clutching the bible. Cops ultimately had to use a taser to subdue the actor. Brea was taken to a nearby hospital for a psychiatric evaluation with a police escort.
Police claim the scene was "extremely bloody."
A neighbor told WPIX 11, "I hear the brother chasing her [his mother] through the house and he's just saying a bunch of [Bible] passages like, 'Repent, Repent, Repent.'"
The neighbor continued, "I heard him chasing her through the house and I hear a loud scream and so I have my father call the cops, call 911."
Brea has not been formally arrested or charged yet. We're told he'll will be turned over to the NYPD once his psychiatric evaluation is complete.
UPDATE: Brea has been charged with 2nd degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

The "Ugly Betty" actor accused of killing his mother with a sword has been charged with 2nd degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon ... law enforcement sources tell TMZ.
Michael Brea was taken into custody early Tuesday morning after allegedly stabbing his mother to death in her Brooklyn apartment.
We're told Brea is not suspected of using a samurai sword -- as initial reports suggested -- but rather another type of blade, roughly 3 feet in length.
Brea is scheduled to be arraigned sometime today.

Michael Brea -- the small-time actor who once appeared on "Ugly Betty" -- has an explanation for (allegedly) killing his mother with a sword: "I didn't kill her. I killed the demon inside her."
In a frightening interview with the NY Daily News, from the prison ward at Bellevue Hospital, Brea explained how God came to him in his sleep and told him it was to be his last day on Earth.
He recalls how he left his apartment because a man was trying to put a curse on him, and while riding the train to Brooklyn, he explains, "I felt like Neo from 'The Matrix.' I began hearing voices and feeling powerful ... They were asking about the difference between mom and mother. It was a sign."
By the time Michael returned home he knew he was going to kill his mother. When she asked him to pour water from a pot in which she was cooking chicken, Michael attacked her with a sword, believing a demon had taken hold of her soul.
Michael says, "I was slashing my mom and I heard the police knocking on the door yelling, 'Michael, open up, Michael, open up,' but I knew they wouldn't open the door and stop me because the spirits were protecting me ... I just kept cutting her. No one could stop me. I was doing the work of God."
Brea has been charged with 2nd degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

Neighbors of a Brooklyn woman savagely slashed to death by her deranged, sword-wielding son claim cops refused to enter her apartment early Tuesday despite their pleas. When cops finally got inside the Prospect Heights home, they found Yannick Brea kneeling with fatal lacerations to her head in a blood-spattered bathroom. The son, holding the three-foot sword and babbling about religion and repentance, was arrested in a nearby bedroom, police said. "I could hear her groaning inside ... She was still alive, but they wouldn't go in," said Clinton Clare, 52, who lived in the apartment below the Brea family.
Clare estimated police waited an hour before bursting into the apartment, where neighbors heard Michael Brea, 31, delivering a terrifying rant at his doomed mother. "I heard a 'Help me!' shriek," said Vernal Bent, 18, who lived in the apartment above. "Police kept knocking on the door. Knocking and knocking ... All of us kept saying, 'Open the door.'"
Neighbors said the first screams came from the apartment shortly after 1 a.m., with one man saying he made a 911 call and told where he told a police dispatcher there was blood smeared on an apartment window. The man said police initially came to the scene and then left - prompting a second 911 call. This time, the neighbor said, he wanted outside for cops and led them to the crime scene.
Gregory Clare, 25, whose father owns the building, said his dad gave the OK for four cops to break down the door. "They just kept saying protocol this and protocol that," he said. "Now a woman's dead who should be alive if only the police would have listened."
NYPD Commissioner Raymond Kelly questioned neighbor accounts of the delay, saying he believed officers handled the situation properly. "It's a barricaded situation and that is handled by the Emergency Services Unit. What happens in a barricade situation is that responding patrol officers, if possible, wait for the Emergency Services forces to arrive," Kelly said.
Brea - an aspiring actor who once played a bit part on "Ugly Betty" - angrily screamed at his mother to "repent" before delivering the death blows. He apparently removed the murder weapon from a Masonic lodge after a meeting Monday night and then used it later on his mother, said the suspect's uncle. Brea was a low-level Mason who was not cleared to take one of the ceremonial swords - typically stainless steel blades with a short, black grip.
"Something happened that made him do it," said Martial Brea. "The devil entered him."
Neighbors described a hellish sound coming from the Brea apartment in the middle of the night. "I heard this wild screaming," said Gregory Clare, who lived in the Prospect Heights building. "Michael was yelling, 'Repent, repent, sinner, sinner,' over and over again," Clare said. "He was screaming, 'You never accepted Jesus.' It was real loud." Yannick Brea, 55, howled for help that didn't arrive in time to save her.Neighbors said she was a 9/11 survivor who had worked at the Marriott hotel in the World Trade Center. "Her screams woke me up," said another neighbor in the four-story building. "Screams I'll never forget. ... I heard [Michael] rambling. He was incoherent."
Michael Brea was spouting gibberish when he was removed from the Park Place apartment on a stretcher, neighbors said. He was taken to Kings County Hospital for a psychiatric exam after his arrest. Neighbors said spattered blood was visible on the apartment windows.
The accused killer's cousin was stunned by the news of Yannick's death. "She was a very loving person," said John Brea, 34, as he stood outside the apartment building. "She helped to raise all of us." John Brea said his aunt was a hard-working woman employed by a local hotel.
Neighbors and an ex-girlfriend described Michael Brea as a martial arts student who showed no signs of any mental illness and no violent tendencies. "Michael had the whole world in his hands," said an ex-girlfriend. "This is a shock." Neighbor Clare agreed. "I saw Michael last Saturday," he said. "He was asking about my daughter. He was always real kind."

An unhinged actor Thursday calmly described hacking his beloved mother to death with a sword because he believed a demon had taken hold of her soul.
"I didn't kill her. I killed the demon inside her," Michael Brea said in a chilling hourlong interview with the Daily News in the prison ward at Bellevue Hospital.
When told his mother, Yannick Brea, 55, had died in the grisly assault early Tuesday, Michael was unrepentant.
"So be it. It was the work of God," he said.
Speaking with white-hot intensity and unflinching confidence, Brea described a shadowy descent into a world filled with Masonic symbolism and black magic beginning late Sunday when he snapped awake.
"I was sleeping in my bedroom. God came above my bed and reached his arm to me," said Brea, wearing a light-blue prison jumpsuit and slippers. He told his tale while sitting unhandcuffed on a blue chair behind a wood table.
"I said, 'God, is my time on earth over?' I heard a voice say, 'Yes Michael, today is your last day.' I asked if I could say goodbye to my family."
The 31-year-old Brea said he told no one about the dream, but the following afternoon, he said he received another sign while at the Prince Hall Masonic Temple in Harlem, which he'd joined a week earlier.
There, he said, a man approached and tried to put a curse on him.
"[He] kept trying to put something in my hand but wouldn't show it to me. I kept opening my hand. It was a Freemason pin. I wouldn't touch it," Brea said.
Felt like Neo from 'The Matrix'
He began feeling ill and left, and while riding the train back to Brooklyn, he said, strangers began speaking to him about his mother.
"I felt like Neo from 'The Matrix.' I began hearing voices and feeling powerful," Brea said. "They were asking about the difference between mom and mother. It was a sign."
When he returned to the family's Prospect Heights apartment, the bit-part actor who once appeared on "Ugly Betty," hugged his mother, a God-fearing Haitian immigrant with whom relatives say he had long been very close.
"I knew I would never see my mother again," he said. "I gave her lots of love."
He went to his room and lit candles, placed a dagger and a 3-foot ceremonial Freemason sword by his side.
Investigators said he had stolen the sword from the Masonic lodge, but Brea insisted his father had given it to him when he was a child.
"It's a powerful sword," he said.
Brea also arranged three saint cards around him - including one of Saint Jude holding a sword.
His mother then knocked on the door and asked him to go to the kitchen and pour water from a pot in which she was cooking three chickens.
"I looked at these chickens lying dead in the pot and a voice told me it was a sacrifice. It was black magic," he said.
Brea left the chickens alone and went back to his room. When his mother asked why he did not do what she had asked, he said she spoke with a different voice.
"She had the voice of the demon. I opened the door with the dagger at my side and the sword," he said.
"I asked, 'Do you believe in God?' She said, 'No, Michael no,' and began screaming. I began slashing her like this," he said, bringing his right hand down in a violent hacking motion.
Sickening trail of blood
Brea chased his mother from room-to-room, repeatedly swinging the sword, leaving a sickening trail of blood in his wake.
"I didn't want to kill her right away. I wanted to give her time to get right with God," he said.
By this point police had arrived outside the apartment, but Brea said he had no doubt he would be able to finish the job.
"I was slashing my mom and I heard the police knocking on the door yelling, 'Michael, open up, Michael, open up,' but I knew they wouldn't open the door and stop me because the spirits were protecting me," he said.
"I just kept cutting her. No one could stop me. I was doing the work of God," he said.
"I'm named after a saint myself - Saint Michael. He was protecting the house from the police. They weren't allowed to enter the apartment."
Neighbors complained that the officers who initially responded failed to do enough to get inside and stop the sword-wielding maniac before his mother died.
Police officials said the officers handled the situation properly and were waiting for better equipped and trained Emergency Service Unit cops to arrive.
When they finally broke the door down, cops found a trail of bloody footprints and handprints on the walls and floors, and Yannick Brea crumpled on her knees in the bathroom.
Her son stood amid the carnage with the sword in one hand and a Masonic Bible in the other.
"I heard voices telling me how powerful I was, saying 'Oh he's good,'" Brea said.
While recounting the gruesome murder, Brea showed no remorse, and his eyes stayed locked on a reporter.
His intensity only broke for a moment when he said he was thirsty and his mouth was dry. Guards gave him a wet towelette to dab at his lips.
Brea said he is convinced he did the right thing.
"Grand Architect of the Universe means God," he said, referring to an expression neighbors said he shouted as he was being removed from the bloody scene. "I was praising God. To you it might sound silly, but in my culture demons are very real."

Prince Hall Masonic Temple
The building now occupied by the Prince Hall Grand Lodge was built in 1925 as the Masonic Temple for William McKinley Lodge No. 840, F. and A. M. Previously located at 57th Street and Seventh Avenue, the new temple was built in Harlem on West 155th Street between Amsterdam and St. Nicholas Avenues. In September, 1936, the property was foreclosed, but it seems that the lodge and other associations continued to meet in the building.
In March, 1938, the building was leased by Manufacturers Trust Company to the Savage School for Physical Education, previously at 308-10 West 59th Street for almost 50 years.
As some point, the building was acquired by the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge, who moved from a temple built in 1926 at 144th Street and Seventh Avenue. The Prince Hall Masons are a benevolent service organization dedicated to the uplifting of people of color. A driving force in the struggle for African American civil rights, the Prince Hall Masons continue to organize and participate in social service projects to improve the lives of people in Northern Manhattan.
