Member of Murray Legal Team Faces Contempt Hearing<br /><br />(AP) — A law partner of Dr. Conrad Murray’s chief defense attorney is facing a contempt hearing stemming from an interview he gave during the trial of Michael Jackson’s doctor.<br /><br /><br /><br />Matt Alford, who practices with attorney Ed Chernoff, in Houston, was ordered to appear Tuesday before Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor. The judge threatened to hold Alford in contempt for his appearance on NBC’s Today show.<br /><br />Alford gave an interview in which he criticized a prosecution witness in the Murray trial and made comments about the jury. The judge said he found the interview shocking since it came only hours after he had warned defense attorneys not to comment on the case outside court.<br /><br />Murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter last week in Jackson’s death and is in jail awaiting sentencing Nov. 29.<br /><br />http://www.mjjunderground.com/2011/11/15/member-of-murray-legal-team-faces-contempt-hearing/

    They're not gonna say what happened during the hearing? WAS he actually found to be in contempt of court or was he just "threatened"?? "What you have just witnessed could be the end of a particularly terrifying nightmare -- it isn't....it's the beginning!"  suspicious//

    Hi all - I'm going to try and post some pics, hopefully it will work!<br /><br />I was googling Matt Alford today and found the original pic we were shown on him; I have put this pic side by side to the 'bow tie' man Alford.     Wow.  It definitely looks like him.  Especially compared with the picture  on the right.  This could explain why he failed to show up for a contempt hearing. I linked an article about this below:<br /><br />http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/11/15/matt-alford-conrad-murray_n_1094805.html<br /><br />This article also states that the judge ordered him to appear on November 29th when they were going to sentence Conrad.  Does anyone know if  he actually showed up?  <br /><br />This mugshot was taken in October 2011, but the judge didn't issue a warrant for his arrest until November when he missed the hearing, so I don't think this picture is related to the  CM trial.  I wonder what he was arrested for. <br /><br />It doesn't surprise me that he may have a shady past.  There was something strange going on with the other attorneys too especially between J. Michael Flanagan and Valerie Hess.  <br /><br />On another note, I found an pretty interesting video as I researched the defense team more.  This video is supposedly from a documentary they created:<br /><br /> /><br />Notice how Flanagan says to Chernoff: "You don't see the issue.  He's got it all mapped out for you, and you're missing it." <br /><br />Does Flanagan know something??     I've done a quick search to see if I could find if he made it to court on Nov. 29th (same day Murray was sentenced) but no luck.<br /><br />The mug shot guy was arrested for public intoxication and our lawyer Matt is a DUI lawyer  :icon_bounce:. He is also no longer part of the Stradley, Chernoff, Alford team; Matt has his own solo practice.
