I was one of the people who sent a rose to Forest Lawn. I wanted to show<br />Michael that I was thinking of him (with us or not) It is so beautiful to know<br />that people are still showing their love. Actually it seems to be getting<br />bigger every year!! I love you Michael.<br />
I participated in sending the roses because I saw that they gave them to hospitals and senior citizens homes, etc. last year in Michael’s name which I think is awesome.<br /><br />To the idea of collecting money for a charitable donation on Michael’s birthday, count me it when this commences.
This group (or it may even be one lady) had a well organised charity donation blog for MJ's birthday 2010 and 2011. I tried to email her to see if there's anything planned yet for this year, but the email address is no longer valid. I'm not on Facebook or Twitter, but maybe someone else might fancy contacting her - if you like this idea. Details are here:<br /><br />Michael Jackson Birthday Charity
Thanks Curls. I had forgotten about this group. I bought 6 of those books when they were first published. Very nice woman the writer. She sent me a signed hard copy when it was published later. Guess I helped without even knowing. I will get back in touch with them again.
Wow I wonder where are all these sites that over 30k worth of roses could be gathered? Does anyone know these sites, & who was the biggest contributor of the $$$$? Just seems odd to me to find that many people to have that much $$$$. Something seems odd to me about this big dollar amount on the 3rd anniversary. What's so special about the 3rd anniversary that fans would contribute this much? So next year, maybe 40k, & 40,000 roses, & it goes up every year?

<br /><br />At least! Roflol

What’s also interesting about this project is that last year it was headed by another group who had fans send their money $3.00/rose to a paypal account in his/her name. There was some accusations that the fan(s) did not spend all the money collected on the roses but kept some for themselves. I believe the count of roses last year were 4,000 plus. This year, someone else headed the project with the goal being 7,000 roses (which obviously they surpassed). The account this year was in the vendor’s name for the same price per rose. The ensuing twitter battle took place when last years organizer accused this year’s of charging too much since there was no overhead being that the money was going straight to the vendor. She alleged that the roses were $1.75 or $2.00/ea and the extra $1.00 last year was to cover overhead charges. This year they were sayng that the vendor still had overhead with packing, etc. They battled openly on twitter and even got the vendor involved. It will be interesting to see how this goes down next year which is the one that’s most relevant to me (4 years). I get where they both stood on the issue but to see it fought in the public like that with name calling etc. was scandalous :affraid:

<br /><br />It's a Facebook site called "One Rose for Michael J. Jackson"<br />https://www.facebook.com/groups/OneRose4MJ/<br /><br />Not too hard to get that many roses with the amount of fans all over the world.
<br /><br />Most of these fans are anti-hoax. They believe he’s dead.<br />
<br /><br />I think what Grace is saying here is: why is there a hyphen?<br />
<br /><br />Exactly Grace and Mary, the meaning of the words with and without hyphen changes :icon_e_wink:<br />

He will be the last one to perform. <br />The best is yet to come in this "late-night show".<br /><br />There's only one with a "last word" in a book.<br /><br />Oh and didn't we have 4,000 roses last year?<br />Multiplied by 2.5 this year?<br />Is it scary yet how fast the number goes up?
<br /><br />Hi, SEHF!<br /><br />You don't know me, but I have been at this forum a very long time. I am just not posting that much these days. I wanted to say, that when I looked at your "Profile", and I saw that you are now using my avatar, I was touched and proud! Not sure if anyone else sees this "PEACE Sign on Earth" when THEY look at your profile. I haven't been able to make my avatar work on this forum since the last major forum overhaul! Better that someone, such as yourself, who seems quite MAG-nificent and tech-savvy, can make THIS avatar (which has become such a part of me) work... for YOU!<br /><br />Take care of yourself!<br /><br />love~<br />mjintrigue2012<br /><br />P.S. Please don’t take my DRAGON! Twitter

Thankyou Souza,<br /><br />But, with all due respect, when I go to SEHF's profile on MY computer, and I look at the rolling commentary (which hasn't been rolling so much lately!), why is HIS avatar on the rolling commentary part, now MY avatar? And, I have asked others, they are seeing the avatar placeholder on their computers in this rolling commentary part.<br /><br />Pleading ignorance here.<br /><br />love~<br />mjintrigue2012
<br /><br /><br /><br />look at the top of the tree it seems like a number 177 or 137 ? and the color is different. photoshoped? ?<br /><br />what do you think?
