I guess that to understand the meaning of the song deeper, I would need to step out of my belief about Michael being some kind of "voice healer".
What I see then is a great artistic piece, where the song becomes tridimensional.
When singing Morphine, the sound, the voice, the music and the lyrics represent an extreme state of mind. Morphine analgesics are used to relieve severe to agonizing pain and suffering.
Demerol is used to treat moderate to severe pain
When he sings about morphine, his pain is extreme, all the unjustice and comments and critics about him.
To me when he sings "Demerol, Demerol.. oh god he's taking demerol... hee, hee, heee"
Its almost sarcastic.. like he is laughing at the thought.. thats what he wants people to believe, and everyone is freaking out that he is taking Dermerol and he is just sitting back and laughing.
This song is one of the keys to me.. if MJ is dead then he was psychic. No other explanation

I'd like to hear the demo for this song, I have all Mikes music on my I pod, but just went and got all of the cds for my car. On the new off the wall and thriller albums they have Quincy Jones and other producers talking about the tracks Mike ect...and demos. I'd like to ask the producer/s whom worked with Mike in the studio on this song. When this song was written.....we all know Mike wrote stuff years before they came out. I think Michael was already thinking about faking his death at that time. In this song you have a "heart attack" due to drug abuse. This is what's supposed to have happened to Michael.
In the song you can also hear noises of a medical device (bips monitoring) the voice of a woman who says something like "did you hear what the doctor said ?". Reminds us of the hoax again.
"I need your body" = some think that a real death has been used from a dying person who looked like Michael and who accepted a deal to help Michael. Don't know if it's true but this sentence indicate that a body is needed to fake a heart attack ? Makes me think of something...

This part makes me think of Dr Murray who is surely part of the hoax and is the now famous Dr. who administered this new "drug" which is Propofol.

People just believe what they're being told by the medias without questionning, they're taking morphine, they just sit around talking about it but they know nothing, surely not the truth. Morphine is the insidious lie which is keeping people asleep.
