I lived for 30 years a mile away from Forest Lawn in Cypress, Ca. I have attended many funerals and wakes there. I also have driven by at dark many times and they close the gates of the cemetary at 5:00 or twilight. They have viewings at night but never a burial. I thought that was very strange even though it is Michael Jackson they closed the whole cemetary down for the whole day from press and lookie loos. I find that interesting also I was just at a funeral there and the funeral directors took complete charge of e verything. In lots of the videos of the memorial I see Kenny Ortega kinda taking over like at the Stapels memorial . What are your thoughts on this

    For the "Thriller" mystique.
    Wasn't it a full moon that night?

    I thought that was strange too having a burial at night. I would not be at no funeral at night in a cemetary. I'm sorry but that's creepy. It seem like MJ kids would have been scared in there at night too. I'm 34 and I would be. I don't do funerals unless It's someone I am really close to. The last one I went to I tried not to look at the person I just glanced real fast and kept going because I didn't want it to freak me out that night. I basically wanted to be there more for support.

    As far as I know it's not allowed to funerals to take place in the night! It never happens and that's the first fact that made me wonder....Why do the funeral during the night? <!-- s;) -->;)<!-- s;) -->
  • What I find interesting is, I was looking at the bill for forest Lawn, and since when does the cemetary charge for outfits for the family? In this case it was $1900.00 <!-- s:?: -->:?:<!-- s:?: --> <!-- s:?: -->:?:<!-- s:?: -->

    IMO it's very strange to have a funeral at night...

    Don't know if this is everywhere around the world, but here in Holland
    we've got these wooden chalkboards with text on them saying you are not allowed to enter the cemetairy AFTER sunset ... (really curious why that is btw)... so to me it's really strange if a funeral takes place at night!

    strange indeed <!-- s:? -->:?<!-- s:? --> But I think the Jacksons are strange in many ways, so this is just another thing, imo.

    It could be very very possible. I don't find it weird. They may do an exception for MJ maybe by family request, in order to keep their privacy, don't you think? (I'm not saying he's dead, just that it's not strange IMO)

    I've never heard of a funeral being held at night either, but if we're looking for "clues" to make sense of it then we would need to research this from a different perspective. The media obviously plays a MAJOR role in all of this. The goal was to convince us that he's gone, right? There is a motive. Rebbie, LaToya and Katherine made that very clear in their interviews. Keep in mind that MJ was very, very clever and had the publicity game down to a science.

    it appears that the whole thing is designed to cause people to question the validity.

    he was laid to rest like an jehova witness....after dark..the only thing that was not in the "spitit of jehova witness funeral" was the camera that was filming...they don't allow it....but it was there

  • If this was indeed the only night burial at Forest Lawn, it shows a remarkable similarity with Robert F. Kennedy's burial. The slow transport of RFK's coffin delayed arrival at Arlington National Cemetery, causing it to be the only night burial to have taken place there.

    I'm gonna have to go with strange the funeral was held at night. I thought in the
    U.S. that it was against the law <!-- s:? -->:?<!-- s:? -->
  • I THOUGHT BACK THEN WHILE WATCHING ( THAT HE HAD REALLY PASSED ) AND THAT IT WAS PLANNED TO HAVE A PREFECT SUNSET BURIAL. AS THE FAMILY WAS LATE AS ALL HELL I THOUGHT THERE GOES THAT IDEA.

    ! Glendale (Forest Lawn Glendale, fake burial place) !

    Sorry, that was just my first (light-hearted) thought upon seeing your question... I agree that the evening burial is odd, as is the family's very late arrival.
