Michael Jackson's Brother Wants Estate To Pay

Posted Jan 21st 2010 7:00PM by TMZ Staff

Michael Jackson's brother, Randy Jackson, is in the middle of a creditor's claim filed against the estate and according to legal docs ... Randy is on the side of the creditor.

Stabler & Associates, a company that claims it was hired to handle Michael Jackson's business matters -- in particular, a humongous Bank of America loan and the funding of his 2004 child molestation trial -- claims the estate owes the company $275,446.08.

Here's the problem. The statute of limitations has run on the debt. But Perry Wander, lawyer for Stabler & Associates, tells TMZ the company relied on Michael and Randy's repeated promises that the debt would be paid, so the estate should not be able to raise the technical, statute of limitations defense.

Howard Weitzman, lawyer for Michael Jackson's estate, is unmoved, telling TMZ, "The claim needs to be investigated and it appears to be barred by the statute of limitations."

And this is interesting ... included in the $275,446.08 -- a late penalty of $81,946.08.

And you thought credit card interest was high.

Why was he so bad at paying his bills, he had enough money
  • I would think someone of MJ's fame and fortune would have had someone on staff responsible for paying all the bills.....Oh yeah, he did....Tohme Tohme! <!-- s:shock: --><!-- s:shock: --> So, I have to ask...if this man was responsible for Michael's finances, wrote the checks, cut the deals, etc., why did Michael supposidly still owe this kind of money??!. <!-- s:? -->:?<!-- s:? -->

This could be bad for Randy if the estate does not pay. Since he gave his reassurance that the bill would be paid they may come after him for the money. He shouldn't have to pay anything since it was for Michael's defense in the case. What a mess! I wonder why they didn't make the claim before the statute of limitations ran out. That was stupid on the attorneys' part.

I see TMZ is trying rattling somebody cage again this is just a story to get a reaction from the family if MJ and Randy owned that kind of money they would have sued them years ago <!-- s:lol: --><!-- s:lol: -->

I am not buying it. Layer's are really intellingent people and I am sure if Michael did still owe them this kind of money they knew to drag him to court before the statute of limitation ran out. <!-- s:roll: --><!-- s:roll: --> What's next! <!-- s:shock: --><!-- s:shock: -->

    $275,446.08 -- a late penalty of $81,946.08.

    so..
    2+7+5+4+4+6+0+8 = 36

    36 - 8-1-9-4-6-0-8 = 0

    Zero.. that's about how much they'll get. <!-- s:D -->:D<!-- s:D -->

At the time of Michael's court case Randy Jackson & Karen Faye set up a website for fans, Fans had to pay a fee to join, Michael was unaware of this as he was too busy with the court case, When Michael did find out about it he shut the website down & KF was sacked, Michael did not want anyone taking money from his fans, to date the fans received no refund. Wonder will they refund the fans if the estate pay out <!-- s:lol: --><!-- s:lol: -->
This so called debt was not just to do with the courtcase.........
  • I don't trust TMZ.

I don't trust them anymore, I was reading recently that all the people who work for TMZ are Lawyers... We know Harvey is a lawyer but the rest of them are too apparently. The thing is that TMZ is the MEDIA and since the Illuminati OWNS the media why the hell do we still all believe this? It's ridiculious how many creditor claims there are against Michael's estate it's absurd that is the only news they have lately, I don't believe TMZ anymore since it's news and I don't believe all that anymore I won't believe this neither. I see all of that with different eyes now.

Sorry for going so off topic.

No real fan care about that for one second.. all that matters is that Michael did well in court.. and he did know about the site, he did videos that was on there, and photos as well.. it was Randys project though, and I think he is responsible for shutting down the site

  • i understood that he did not have the cash to pay his lawyers that he asked his sister janet how said no as i understand it, and randy promised some of mj's friends that he would pay the debts but mj didnt pay and put them in difficulties.

i felt sorry for mike he had to defend himself against the lies but i feel that the proscutors should have paid the costs because the case failed.

what happened to the accusers, any action them for perjury?
