  • Paris and Prince's acceptance speech from the Grammy's is on tmz.com. Re-watching it, they were both extremely nervous.

I hate to say but I did not like this Grammy. Earth Song was ruined by musical performers
who imo, can't touch Michael with his gift, the audience broke the "moment and MESSAGE"
of the song, by applauding for them as they walked on stage.
Earth Song is a powerful message and impact. It should BE the Grammys.
The children were nervous and scared, imo they are not ready for this, and should be
children for a few more years.
So, unless Michael was there for them, it seem connived and somewhat sad for me. <!-- s:( -->:(<!-- s:( -->

I really dont understand something about randy's tweet. If none of the family was invited, say brothers, sisters or parents, then who did these children go with? and why were 3T there, they can invite the nephews and not the rest of the family?

I don't know but clearly someone had to be with them. Maybe a close family friend.
I think it was planned that way...for no family members to be there. Part of the game....the mystique of it all.
  • i thought it was Katherine that went with the children...

exactly, he could be there in disguise. he could be singing from some room with a microphone.

hmm...so say this were true. How would security not notice someone locked away in some room as they walked by it with someone singing? wouldn't that be a little [too/i] suspicious? Surely, they would have caught him. I mean theres a voice coming from a random room...

I read this and started laughing.

I'd love to have Michael back, but talking about him being in a room, singing behind a curtain... that's out there. Just think about the risk. If all those people were involved, somebody is going to talk, and there would be a tabloid too willing to pay them for the information.

I don't profess to know Michael, but from everything I've read and watched, I don't think he'd blow his cover by doing what is being suggested.

I think the invite was supposedly last minute (for the children) and Katherine was going to escort them. I didn't know the cousins would be there. Interesting.
  • "Dad, Daddy was suppose to be here, like dad-daddy was gonna perform this year, but he couldn't perform last year. Thank you, we love you daddy."

He couldn't perform last year?! Yeh, we saw that.. He was dead, what about now?
    -God what a CLUE!
  • If anyone has watched This Is It during the credits you can see that Heal the world and will you be there were obviously re-recorded so it is safe to assume that Earth Song was re- recorded aswell. I bet anyone with audio equipment can compare the This is it Earth Song audio to the audio from the grammys and see it is the same thing, even the band. It wasn't Michael singing live.

Also you could tell both Paris and Prince were really nervous. Prince's voice was shakey, he was forgetting what to say and people need to realise that not only is it the first time he has spoken publicly about his father's passing but it was in front of about 14,000 people. That amount of people at your first public speaking is nerve racking and he did the best he could have done.

There are no clues people. Michael is gone. People can bring up numbers all you want to try to make a hoax seem like a possibility but look at all the messages in Tupac's music. All the numerology with the number 7 and "dead on" evidence about him being alive have turned up nothing. Even the autopsy photo couldn't persuade people into believing the truth. Tupac hasn't returned, Elvis hasn't returned, and Michael won't return. Except reality and the only way to have Michael live on is in his music and his message.

I believe it was the last Ebony magazine with Michael that he stated that his music has his soul in it so for long after he is gone he will live in it.
  • And yes, it did sound like MJ was singing it live as well. Even when he spoke at the beginning, I felt like he was there. Notice how the kids came from almost under the stage, back entrance. Was MJ there with them? And yes, Prince was reading from a cue card. WOW. Need to watch the re-run ASAP.........

Did anyone else notice in the way Prince talked it sounded as if MJ wrote what he wanted Prince to say and he said it as if it were his dad talking in the same tone of voice

I watched the MJ Tribute, "Earth Song" on the Grammys tonight. I was very disappointed by the singers. I did not like how they were featured singing along with MJ. I just wanted the tribute to be about our beloved MJ. MJ's voice seemed so crystal-clear to me. I thought he was behind the screen. I thought he was going to come out on stage. It was very hard to me to watch the tribute. It just hurts too much for me! <!-- s:( -->:(<!-- s:( --> I just miss him too much! <!-- s:( -->:(<!-- s:( --> I just want MJ back. That is all I want!

I agree with you. And, I didn't understand what Paris was trying to say.

My sentiments exactly. It was very hard for me to watch too. I almost didn't. It's very painful and my heart hurts. But MJ's name not on the memorium list makes me smile.

no mention of him in the IN MEMORIAM just now!!!! hmmm <!-- s;) -->;)<!-- s;) -->

@acswtgrl, I caught that too. Even Les Paul who was born in 1915 and died in 2009 was included in the In Memoriam. So, the Grammys are slipping! <!-- s;) -->;)<!-- s;) -->

Darkchild, I do agree with you...All I wanted to see was MJ. But this song has such a powerful message, that I believe this is what MJ wanted to give to the world...his message about saving the planet. I think that there have been quite a few tributes and most are dedicated to his career, his performances. This time around it was Michael's chance to scream out loud what he wanted to say at the concerts. This time it wasnt only about him, but about his message. I personally liked the way the singers turned around looking at the screens with MJ pictures. I felt they were honoring him.

yes, Im still thinking on those words. What she wanted to say with that?

  • Blanket really looks like Michael. Spitting image. I like Blanket's hair like that.

Maybe they didn't slip up. They did exactly what they agreed to do?! It can't be a coincidence that no one and nothing includes Michael's date of "death"

I agree 100% the Tribute should have only been about MJ and his message. That is all! All of MJ's fans needed to see that on the Grammys tonight. I do like how the singers did turned around and honored MJ. The fans are suffering and struggling with grief. Our lives's have never been the same since that fateful day, June 25, 2009. The pain is just too great and overwhelming for me at times and tonight was one of those times! <!-- s:( -->:(<!-- s:( --> <!-- s:( -->:(<!-- s:( -->

Just saw it on YouTube (too late for live watching in Germany) and Prince' speech made me cry - in this moment I really thought "no doubt, Mike is gone, he would never allow this". But Paris... she gave me new hope. He supposed to be here? And no family was invited?!
OMG will these clues never end and turn into facts?

I think I need a few hours to calm down, think about it and then watch again. See you later... <!-- s:) -->:)<!-- s:) -->

    I'll re-watch it this evening...
Fresh air would be good for my mind !
    see ya later !
and like Prince said yesterday : "spread LOVE"
    hugs

I agree to you to some degree. They could have at least Had Ringo and Paul out there as michael has stated numerous times that he is a big fan of the beatles, and those two can flat out sing. I don't know if they'd accept, but they could have at least tried. The grammys aren't the same as they used to be. All these horrible singers...(with respect of course) just can't keep up with everyone from the glory days. Smokey Robinson, I like, everyone else...mehh.

Could it be that the kids were just nervous?

I would like to think so. In the past few months the children have been the focus and received much publicity since MJ's death. There obviously not prepared to give speeches, and you have to keep in mind that there young. I still get nervous giving presentations even though i've been through many of them. just a natural feeling I get.

    I agree.

I think they were really nervous! but still giving clues... no "miss you daddy"

Did you notice Prince´s slip up.... "we would also like to thank your fa... THE fans bla bla" I think he´s been rehersing this with his father... <!-- s:lol: --><!-- s:lol: -->

Or trying to keep from crying.

They weren't close to crying. it was clear to me that they were straight up nervous. It's been a few months already.
