Blanket Jackson, Paris Jackson, Lionel Richie and Prince Jackson backstage at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards held at Staples Center on January 31, 2010 in Los Angeles, California WireImageAccess Hollywood LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- When Michael Jackson's two eldest children took to the stage at the Grammy Awards on Sunday night, to accept their late father's lifetime achievement award, the world stopped to watch.

But on Monday, reports surfaced that Blanket, Michael's youngest son, was supposed to appear on stage but backed out at the last minute after becoming overwhelmed. However, a source close to the Grammys told Access Hollywood that gossip is fiction and Blanket was just fine.

The source told Access that Michael's children themselves decided just Prince Michael I and Paris would speak on stage and accept the award on behalf of their dad.

Blanket did attend the event with Katherine Jackson, his grandmother, who was backstage. She looked after her grandchildren during the big event, the source added.

    HUH???

    I thought Katherine wasn't there???
  • Blanket is just 7 years old, I think he was very nervous and it would be too much for a little boy like him to stand infront of thousands of people including all the people that were watching on television and online.

The children have been kept away from the media circus and hidden for most of their life, now stepping in front of a huge crowd to deliver a speech is definitely a huge step. I would be scared, too.

Someone HAD to escort them, they are children, can't go out without a family member. So it must have been Katherine. (I like that part: according to "source" heehee <!-- s:lol: --><!-- s:lol: --> )

Poor Blanket <!-- s:cry: --><!-- s:cry: --> they should let him be, he's just seven for God's sake... I don't know if the news can be trusted but nevertheless, he's just a kid, and a shy one for what I gather...

I believe like you also, I think Blanket isn't out in the open more, not only because he might be shy ( hey just like Mike) but if he's able to see his daddy now, I believe he would be too much of a risk of saying, or looking in a certain direction too much, is going to grab someone's attention, and then if he's able to comment on anything, he might not be able to lie, or at seven years old heck I know I had no idea was "death" was, and because Michael had disguises on alot, even the kids, Blanket might not see a difference, and risk the hoax coming out now.
  • But didn't people say he was mr. Mangoo? They showed that dude right after prince said 'thank you we love you daddy' <!-- s;) -->;)<!-- s;) -->
