Jackson's doctor unable to prescribe anesthetics
Wednesday, February 17, 2010
(02-17) 17:57 PST Los Angeles, CA (AP) --
The California Medical Board says Michael Jackson's doctor has been temporarily restricted from administering or prescribing any sedatives.
The board sent out a notification Wednesday describing the change to Dr. Conrad Murray's medical license.
The move was effective Feb. 8 after the judge at Murray's arraignment ordered him not to use any anesthetic, specifically the powerful anesthetic propofol blamed in the singer's death, or any other heavy sedative.
Murray pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter in Jackson's death.
The order covers anywhere in the U.S. Murray is licensed. He is currently working out of a physician's office in Las Vegas.
The California Medical Board is planning to seek the suspension of Murray's medical license.
