if this is not a hoax, i have no explanation for the smiling, even if they had come to terms for example that mike was going to die from drugs sooner or later, they tried interventions etc before, but when it happens - the emotion would still be there - wouldnt it?
Everything about the memorial was weird. When I initially saw this I observed them being elated that Paris did such a GREAT job with that speech, the tears, etc. You can tell that it was pure IMPROV which is what she's really good at (according to her words during the O interview). They're like "Yaaaaay,you did it--it's over and that was fabulous...". Girls have very special relationships with their dads and Paris understood his turmoil. Yeah, they were smiling because they were elated that it was OVER!!! I can't imagine how hard it was putting on such a production (the stress of worrying that the kids wouldn't f-up, or that someone would slip and drop the casket and we'd see that it was empty, etc). LaToya was congratulating Paris for her acting skills.
