A few years ago, I attended the funeral of a man who passed away very unexpectedly from a heart attack at age 52. The funeral card that was given to all who attended had this poem on the back and I've kept it on my office bulletin board as a reminder of what is important in Life. A few moments ago, it caught my eye and as I read it, I suddenly realized that it describes Michael perfectly, so I decided to share it here. In all the craziness that surrounded Michael in his life and now his "death", it gave me comfort to read it again and think of him in these terms:
************************************************************************************************
To laugh often and much;

To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;

To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others;

To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;

To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived;

This is to have succeeded.

-Ralph Waldo Emerson

We all know that Michael knew a lot of success in his life, but when you read this, you understand that he was even more successful than you might have ever realized. This is how he lived. This was our Michael.

Peace to All!
