Michael Jackson's Vision - Blood on the Dancefloor

For some strange reason the version on the DVD is the "Refugee Camp" Remix, which I, personally don't actually like. Although the video is the same as the regular version released in 2007, it is however an extra minute or so longer, but there's no new scenes.

(For those who don't know "Refugee Camp" is sometimes another name for the 'Fugees' or artists affiliated with them, in particular Wyclef Jean)

I have no idea why they would use this version rather than the original, in my view this lets the collection down as the rest of the videos all contain the original album/video versions of the songs (with the exception of 'Another Part of Me', which is mixed together from Live Concert performance footage and audio.)

    *I meant to say 1997
  • Oh, that's a bad news, I prefer the original... Maybe they'll give both? <!-- s:? -->:?<!-- s:? -->

    Me too, I was quite shocked and rather disappointed when it started playing, but unfortunately it only has the Remixed version
  • Ugh that sucks. I agree, the original is awesome. I'm hoping Blood On The Dance Floor will be in Michael Jackson The Experience. It's such a great song and very different from the rest, but still perfect to dance and sing to.
  • I would say that version was put there with a purpose as Wyclef involved with Haiti...remember the We Are The World 2 made for Haiti... remember Green Man... I would say this has to do with Wyclef/Haiti situation or as a Thank You from Michael. The situation has not gotten any better either there in Haiti... people are still dying. Blood On The Dancefloor ... read between the dots.

    I don't really understand why it's on there to be honest, I don't think it's anything to do with Haiti etc. Besides Vision is about the short films and not so much the music, and this version has been released before on the HIStory on Film DVD and the enhanced Visionary single DVD. I suppose it's just becuase it has additional scenes to the original video/album version (as the remix is an extra minute or so) and they just wanted to show more of Michael <!-- s8-) -->8-)<!-- s8-) -->
  • I hoped that Ghosts would be in the original version. But it is not. I think it's such a great short film and only available on VHS. I copied it from VHS to DVD. But the quality is quite bad. I don't like so much the version in Vision, because you don't get the story at all. Also it was very difficult to find this VHS cassette on here.

    It's the video version of the single, Ghosts was more of a 'feature' film based around several songs, rather than a short film just based on one song. Vision is about Michael's short films, hence why it only has the Ghosts single as opposed to the whole film, which has a runtime of almost 40 minutes. Agreed that you don't get the whole story, but you do get a glimpse of the idea and you can pretty much work out whats going on if you've never seen it before. I also do agree though that the entire film should be released on DVD and no doubt in the future it will be. <!-- s8-) -->8-)<!-- s8-) -->

    Baha me too..
  • I was pretty upset also but I started to get into it after awhile and thenew scenes that I do enjoy and really makes the video look better with the remix <!-- s;) -->;)<!-- s;) -->
    They only remixes I like is for rap songs not to much Michael music but the Billie Jean remix with Kanye West is very nice <!-- s:D -->:D<!-- s:D -->
    Whatever the reason was I I think the original song would have been better <!-- s:D -->:D<!-- s:D --> <!-- s:D -->:D<!-- s:D --> <!-- s:D -->:D<!-- s:D -->

    No I don't care for the remix either but I think the video in 'Vision' has much more of MJ dancing which has to be a good thing! I need to watch the original again and compare, but my first impression in 'Vision' was that we saw more of his French plait whipping round while dancing with 'Susie'! I shall just have to do some more research on this ....!!!
  • i got the jist that the vision dvd collection had other versions on that wasnt included on other dvds so like prison version of they dont care about us and unreleased music videos or unseen/unheard versions blood on the dancefloor orgional is on number ones dvd collection i think

  • Like most people I prefer the ORIGINAL to the remix... but I do enjoy seeing more of MJ dance. <!-- s:lol: -->:lol:<!-- s:lol: --> Bummer that Ghosts isn't included in it's entirety. <!-- s:cry: -->:cry:<!-- s:cry: --> I was really looking forward to that.
