Brittany Murphy will be buried at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles this evening (24.12.09) - but her father Angelo Bertolotti won't attend.
Brittany Murphy's father will not attend her funeral today (24.12.09).
The late 'Clueless' actress - who died on Sunday (20.12.09) after suffering a cardiac arrest, aged just 32 - will be buried at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles this evening, but her estranged father, Angelo Bertolotti, won't be present because he doesn't want to see her dead body.
He said: "I was very shocked by her death. I can't believe it really. It happened so fast, I'm just trying to figure it all out right now. I'm very upset by it.
"If I wanted to go to the funeral I would go, but I don't want to see her that way. She was flawless to me. She was a little bright child. I have only good memories about her. She's a memory to me now. To me she's off making a movie somewhere."
Angelo hadn't spoken to his daughter for over a year and never met her British screenwriter husband Simon Monjack - who she wed in 2007 following a whirlwind romance.
Since she died, there has been much speculation about Brittany's use of prescription drugs and weight issues.
Ten different types of medication were confiscated from her bedroom after she was found collapsed in the shower of her Los Angeles home at the weekend.
However, Angelo, 83, is certain the actress was well and not suffering from any serious medical conditions.
He told 'E!': "She had a couple of issues but nothing was that serious. Her mother Sharon never told me anything like that. She never said she had anything like was listed in the papers."
The list of drugs taken by investigators included anxiety pills, painkillers and depression tablets.
Brittany's ceremony at the Hollywood cemetery - which is where the late 'Thriller' singer Michael Jackson was laid to rest earlier this year - is set to be a "strictly private" event.
not relavant to michaels death but how come brittney has been buried within the week and it took mths for michael also same situ tablets found anti depressants,anxiety pills,painkillers? and to be buried same place as michael this is proof that theres more to michaels disapperance if brittneys death was of the same circumstances and they lay her to rest almost straight away.

Thats not true... the Coroner has not stated the cause of death.
that is true. the coroner already stated that there is no suspect of foul play whatsoever. it is on tmz and there is a video of him saying that.

Michael was under the presence of a medical dr too who REFUSED to sign a death certificate (nor any dr in the ER for that matter). Murray went missing shortly after Michael was pronounced dead. That raised suspicion, hence the delay which then continued into an investigation, which lead to the discovery of the drugs and propofol that Dr Murray never informed ER dr that he had administered.
Difference between Michael and Brittany is that she was found pretty much DOA by paramedics, and was not under the care of any dr/cardiologist at the time of death. The family also supposedly ordered a second autopsy. Nothing suspicious surrounded her death like Michaels
EDIT: The drugs found at Brittany's residence were also prescribed to members of just her household (herself, her husband and her mother). Drugs discovered at Michaels residence were under many aliases and not just Michael's and his immediate family (ie children). Nothing was found in her home (like Propofol) that should only be administered in a hospital setting by a dr trained in it's administration)
As I recall the same coroner said that there was no foul play whatsoever in Michael's case too. I believe there's video of him saying it too. correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's what he said.
Thats what i remember too... It was first announced by the officials that there "was no foul play" involved on MJs death.. and then they changed their minds.
Thats the point i was trying to make about Brittany. The official cause of death hasnt been made public yet, so we do not know if there was foul play or not. Although the circumstances surrounding MJ are far more suspect... the point i was trying to make is that we do not know for sure with Brittany,.... they havent ruled a cause of death, but yet she is buried today.
I know right..... this sucks.. I was thinking about that before.. aw..
Yeah. That was due to a dispute with his family and current wife to where his final resting place was to be.
