TMZ article on Jackson's death
We've just learned Michael Jackson has died. He was 50.
Michael suffered a cardiac arrest earlier this afternoon at his Holmby Hills home and paramedics were unable to revive him. We're told when paramedics arrived Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back.
A source tells us Jackson was dead when paramedics arrived. A cardiologist at UCLA tells TMZ Jackson died of cardiac arrest.
Once at the hospital, the staff tried to resuscitate him but he was completely unresponsive.
A source inside the hospital told us there was "absolute chaos" after Jackson arrived. People who were with the singer were screaming, "You've got to save him! You've got to save him!"
The first I've heard of this! A cardiologist at UCLA? I was under the assumption no one spoke a word...

Ok.. now this is wierd.
So.. what he is saying is that MJ still had a heart beat, but was on life support with no brain function and they were waiting for his mother to arrive before they switched the machine off.
I have been in a real life situation where i have been with someone who has had a heart attack and stop breathing and i understand that there is a 3 minute rule with heart attack victims... once the heart stops, you only have 3 minutes to get it beating again before the brain starts to die due to lack of oxygen.
So what from what Randy is saying, is that MJ had a heart attack.. and stop breathing and his heart stopped beating but then they got his heart beating again but it was too late and his brain had already died.
Could this explain why the paramedics are supposed to have said that he was dead on their arrival? Maybe they did manage to get his pulse back eventually but by then it was too late?? <!-- s --><!-- s -->
That may explain why they worked on him for so long and didnt declare him dead for some hours after his arrival at the hospital.
His death certificate does state his place of death was at the hospital, and not at his home:

Its so confusing as so many people have given conflicting reports.
Dead on arrival means that a person is really dead, all the functions have stopped (brain/heart)
So if he was dead on arrival, then why does Randy Phillips say he was on life support machine. That wouldnt have happened.
Aargh.,. my brain is about to explode!!!! <!-- s:twisted: -->:twisted:<!-- s:twisted: -->
I don't know.. When somebody is a DOA, they don't do anything in hospital but confirming his death...
Again.. if he was alive.. he would need lifesupport in the ambulance on his way to the hospital. There were no straps, no IV, no medical supplies next to him. Very unproffecional in my opinion. And doing CPR on his collarbone? I thought below the ribcage was the proper way.
