Guys...I'm no fan of the big O either....but @scorpion....please keep it civil. We have many teens who read here.
Thanks.....your friendly moderator over and out.

Then remove these :images: & :WTF:. not for teens and quote everyone's alike comments and not just mine.
Friendly suggestion.

I think it was the "go F y B" that RK meant, not the icon.

I also don't think we need to tear down JB. I'm no fan of his but I don't understand the hate for this kid. He seems perfectly harmless to me and if young people appreciate his messages of love and positivism, good on him and the better off we will all be for it. We could use more artists like this.

And I believe if not appropriate for teens then EVERYTHING IS not appropr. INCLUDING ICONS, not just single expression made by scorp because when others do it is ok. But I don't give a f...............
Hate goes to double faced Oprah not to Justin and, yes, MJ can not comparable to some Justin.
I do not dislike JB, what bothers me is his insistence on imitating MJ, his steps, when taken crotch ... do not like it, I accept that maybe MJ is a isnpiracion for, but please JB, not imitate him more, find your own style. On Oprah, better close my mouth. :Pulling_hair:

Marum is Michael the only one that can grab his crotch? I mean come on!! there are many rappers who do that too and Justin imitates them too I see on Justin a more rapperish style than Michaelish style, really.

ps: I promise you I am not JB's manager but my head is hanging around to ask for some commission to him :icon_lol:

Wow...I can't believe some of the hate-filled comments in this thread. Mike spent his whole life (and death) exemplifying a message of spreading love...the same message so many of his 'fans', and many here, claim to follow. You wouldn't know it, though, reading some of these comments. Why all the hate for a kid who hasn't done anything except share his gifts...and not just his talent but also his revenue by donating to all kinds of charities? Cause he tries to emulate Mike? Then I guess there's lots of hate to go around since MANY artists try to emulate Mike. Not to mention, Mike emulated many before him that he admired and put his own spin on stuff....just like Justin and others have and are doing.

As for O's comments about social media...and those here comparing Justin to Mike...we are living in a completely different world today than when Mike started off. Just because the medium has changed doesn't mean that any artist, including Justin, is any less talented or less deserving of his status or 'fans'. People should be wishing the kid much success and much love, as I'm sure Mike is/would...instead of constantly hating on him for no good reason at all.

Based on the constant hate towards Justin...and based on what Justin has been able to accomplish so far (including his charity work and his message of love)...it seems he's much closer to following Mike's message(s) than many of Mike's 'fans' are.

Bottom line...just like any of us would tell someone hating on Mike...if you don't like him or his music, skip it. Much like Mike, he doesn't need the pressure or the hate. You would think that 'fans' of MJ would know what this sort of hate does to a person's spirit.

With L.O.V.E. always.

  • Oprah must be dreaming, there is no comparison possible between JB and Michael. :Pulling_hair:

Agree that some of these comments have gone too far...mine wasn't intended as directing hate but merely observation. I actually feel sorry for the kid if all these forced and contrived "Michael-isms" are being foisted on him by managers and handlers in an attempt to grab some of Michael's "star-power". Yes Michael emulated the entertainers he admired but it never came off as him trying soooo hard to be them. Michael always seemed natural yet electric on stage...I just don't see that with JB. I had a conversation with a friend of mine about JB some time ago and expressed the same concern for his chances at longevity at the "top of the heap" based on how he was being "marketed" at the time, so my view on this isn't new. What's new however is the added irritation of additional stunts...like that ridiculous car and the number of times he's endangered others claiming he "HAD to" because he was being chased by paps. Those kinds of things are insulting and irresponsible in my book. It's disgusting that the paparazzi won't act like responsible citizens and give these people some space...but that doesn't give him the entitlement to jeopardize others and to me comes off as very egocentric and self-serving. Michael has hated being stalked by them too...but he handled it by hiring security and planning ahead...not by putting the general public in danger. Marumjj posted several examples of the other kinds of things that have been obvious to me. The mask thing was one example of going too far in my book. Michael spent decades honing his mystique and public persona...and nobody can (or should) step in...try and grab slices of it for their own...and expect it to come off as natural. The kid (or his people) need to switch gears from the current marketing plan for future success IMO because it seems to be backfiring on most people above the age of adulthood. Again let me clarify...this is not intended as wishing him ill will...it's just observing where I think changes should be made in his representation as an "artist" to stop the current backlash and slams from others. A quick image google listed more of the things that just make me SMH....

babies.jpg biebimage.jpg
JB-plz-stop-copying-Michael-Jackson-justin-bieber-vs-michael-jackson.jpg
justin-bieber-michael-jackson-jacket.jpg
There's nothing regimented or disciplined about JB's personal style day to day to carry this off as his own "look"

And those are just a few I found quickly posted by others. There's a distinct anti-Bieber vibe based on these obvious types of gimmickry and his representation should be aware and make adjustments if they want him to succeed long term I think. Justin should be Justin (whoever he is at heart) with an occasional homage to Michael and stop doing things that don't "fit"...that's all I'm saying. There have just been too many of these "similarities" to be accidentally inferred or intended as respect. I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on the possible/probable intentions and goals of JB and his camp.

Liking JB or not is still a matter of taste. I haven't encountered any mature person who is a real fan of him. I still believe that media has suddenly made him a super star without prior notice!! :LolLolLolLol: I sometimes ask myself: what's so special about this kid?" Anyway, the music industry is capable of doing anything and it is also capable of making any kid a super star in 24 hours if certain plans have to be fulfilled. Talent is not the main reason for fame. This is the naked truth!

Hey Sim where are you, please I need your support in what I am gonna say: why the heck every time Oprah talks about MJ is wearing yellow or purple clothes? It sounds very hoaxy to me and so near to the BAM, please guys don't take this vid seriously I would never think Justin would accept Oprah's words as he knows Michael is the greatest entertainer of all time.
You guys didn't believe when I said that JB is in on the hoax, he is trying to keep MJ's name alive and trying to be sure nobody forget his name until he will come back and BAM!!
JB's concerts plays "MJ's Man in the mirror" before the singer appears on stage, besides his last album is called "Believe" and he appears with angel wings on the stage.
It could be that singers as JB or Rihanna or american rappers (Niki Minaj, etc...) were not aware of Michael's hoax but who are ruling Hollywood music industry know and they are just giving instructions to hint Michael's hoax in some of their songs or albums due to they are being the most influential artists at the "momment of now" and this way is easy to spread it.

I have to disagree i dont think JB has any idea nor is he in on the hoax ... he just has very very good PR agents, producers, etc and NOT because he is talented enough to warrent it ... it is because he sells and he sells big to a large audience, an audience whom they know will appeal to their parents to buy any merchandise going its a massive gold mine money making plan. Once JB's fans are old enough to have their own sustantial incomes, they will think twice about laying out huge amounts of Money for anything with JB on ..... We may get annoyed with them linking JB with MJ where ever they see an oppertunity .. ie his album Believe, the playing of man in the mirror etc .... but the faces behind the scenes holding the contracts, purse strings etc are laughing hysterically all the way to the bank while JB's main audience are gullable young girls. They will grow up soon and the gravy train that is JB'S sucess will also be deraild ... Just my opinion :)

First of all: reread my post again please, I am saying he might be in on it or he might not be in on it however magnates who run the music industry might be in on it.
Second: let teens get crazy about whoever they want and their parents to spent money in whatever they want, I love Michael Jackson and I think he is "UNIQUE" but there is still a life out of him and JB doesn't deserve to be crucified and scrutinized the way he is being on this forum only because he "LOVES" Michael Jackson and "MEDIA" likes to always make a comparison between them. JB won't probably be the best singer nor the best dancer but he has a magnet undoubtedly to teens, he has a sweet face and a special charm (swag lol) that makes them become crazy, what's the problem here?. I can't really find it

Well i am sorry if i offended you .. no i dont like Justin Bieber .. that is no reason for a hostile attitude just because i said i disagreed ... I have no problem i was just commenting on an opinion i had that was diffrent to yours .. and JB will never be crucified his fans will see to that, read them on twitter, for children some of them are dam right evil with their comments to non fans! .... I think in future i will follow Michael's advice and keep quiet ... like he says if you cant say anything nice about someone dont say anything ... so i thinks its best that its back to lurking i go .... :0)
