Let me let go

  • No, seriously. This is absolutely not Michael. When you listen to Michael's voice, you know it's him. It's BAM! His voice. This is not his voice. Anyway, Jason Malachi also had videos of himself singing on his MySpace profile. I think he's had TV performances. Think that Michael was always backstage, talking, singing, and Jason was lipsyncing every word? <!-- s:lol: -->:lol:<!-- s:lol: -->

    Well the only video I see on there is the radio interview (you don't see him... just voices) which is pretty much useless until the end when he sings briefly. So the speaking voice is definitely not Michael, and the singing at the end sounds like it's just somebody who has worked really, really hard to fashion his voice, down to the tiniest little nuance, after Jackson's and has done a good job getting the vibrato and falsetto to come out just right.

    Now, after listening a few times I'm thinking that this song is not being sung by Jackson. Here are my reasons: Michael's voice is smooth as silk... there are some rough spots in the transitions in this song and this singer tends to slur a bit (not something I've heard from Michael since "The Jacksons", and even then, his slurring was different). Also, this is a bit nasaly at times (also not something I've heard from Jackson) which is usually the result of trying too hard to sound a certain way. When he tries to sing in his throat he doesn't have the power that Michael always puts out... it's really kinda weak. All of this could be the result of a rough recording and we could say that Michael simply didn't put the time and effort into it that he would normally for a finished song (and we all know it's uncharacteristic of him to put out anything that he hasn't perfected) but there is one more thing: Michael's singing patterns are not evident in this song at all. There is a certain flow of notes that he's prone to, or certain intervals that naturally come out of him when he's singing (we all do this), and I don't hear any of them in this song. What I do hear is the same vibrato and the same drawing out and ending of notes... and if somebody had the right tone of voice, they could mimic this with practice.

    Sorry if this seems way over-analyzed. It's just how I work.

    BUT I do still find it odd that there are no live videos to be found.

    No clue, I only saw a BAAAAAAAAD quality youtube of the guy performing, and he looked quite a bit fatter than that.

    Sorry! My bad! The song has been advertised on Dailymotion once upon a time <!-- m -->http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x36596 ... of-my-mind<!-- m --> as MJ but apparently it’s not. The song is originally written by a French artist, Ayhnik (N. Piedra). I suppose it's not only Jason M. who is mistaken for Michael. This is from his blog on his Myspace. I did only take out a small part translated by Google from French – it’s not all that well translated: <!-- w -->www.myspace.com/ayhnik<!-- w --> : <!-- m -->http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuse ... =399298100<!-- m -->
    "….. This is not the first time such a "bogus buzz is created around the star. The singer Ayhnik has seen one of his songs attributed to international star. "This title was available on a site with official licensed logo MJJ productions, hence the ambiguity of the case. My song was "hosted" by this site from May 2003 to August 2003 credited on behalf of Michael Jackson, and announced as an "outtakes" sessions of the album "Invincible."The accompanying story, about my song, explained that Michael had recorded the song in duet with Ashanti ... which is another reality that my girlfriend Aurelie! "He said Sincever site."

    For now, the staff of Michael Jackson has not responded to this new rumor ... just a letter from the King of Pop promised "surprises and great news." It is said that the star would launch her new songs on the net ... unless it's a new rumor.
    And from a French article copied to his myspaceblog <!-- m -->http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuse ... =399296573<!-- m --> (also translated from French)

    "… But Ayhnik is not the only artist to have been plagiarized a title. Besides the "outtakes" from Jackson whose album was mainly composed fake, we find another artist where the authorship of the work was missing: Jason Malachi. But the box prod Jackson has issued a denial to bring the infringement, but not that of Piedra."

    So no wonder you never heard of it! I apologize for my mistake. But to be honest, thinking it was a demo I had a hard time hearing the difference ! <!-- s;) -->;)<!-- s;) -->

    Yes! It is on his myspace: <!-- m -->http://www.myspace.com/jasonmalachi<!-- m -->

    But damn he sounds a lot like Michael - I gotta say this - (the music difference in style but..) I can't tell the difference between them in the vocals. He definitely fools me! <!-- s:lol: -->:lol:<!-- s:lol: --> Haha! Crazy.. <!-- s:shock: -->:shock:<!-- s:shock: -->

    Well I saw it when I was playing anagrams with the hoax words with scrabble.
    Then I googled it and saw that I was not the only one coming to that conclusion...
    (I cannot remember where) so it seems credible.

    Does anyone understand why the supposed Jason Malachi has this link in myspace?
    This is his myspace:
    http://www.myspace.com/jasonmalachi
    This is the link that I mean:
    View TMZ Article.... http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendId=89541740&blogId=319878658

    I love how the TMZ article says: "But you'll never believe who did!" <!-- s:P -->:P<!-- s:P -->
  • Please! this is not MJ on the link to the youtube video no way.
  • could it be ????
    But Jackson's greatest legacy is his song catalogue. I revealed months ago that he had nearly 200 unreleased songs, which he has left to his children in his will.
    Profits from one of the new songs will go to starving children. Its producer, according to my source, is an unknown from New York who has a home recording studio. He managed to reach Jackson by email and sent him a demo. Two days later they were in a studio discussing ideas.

    One friend told me: 'Michael was worried the new songs wouldn't be taken seriously because of all the allegations against him. So he had this idea two years ago to put out about 20 songs under fictitious names, to see whether they stood up in their own right.
    'For all we know, an album might be on the market right now, probably at No600 in the charts.'

  • I don't think this is Michael IMO...he's definitely talented and resemble Mike, but i don't think it is...

    It kinda sounds like Mike if he was in a 90s boy band <!-- s:lol: -->:lol:<!-- s:lol: --> <!-- s:lol: -->:lol:<!-- s:lol: --> <!-- s:lol: -->:lol:<!-- s:lol: -->
  • I was wondering about this song too. It sounds good and don't really know if its MJ or not. Does anyone know?

    it does sound a lot 'michaely' to me...even if it isn't michael himself. it is supposed to sound like him.

    to me it could be a parallel to the relationship with his fans. 'you won't let me let go' is happening right now...we're not letting go, fans or no fans... <!-- s:mrgreen: -->:mrgreen:<!-- s:mrgreen: -->
  • Annnnnd it was Michael

    I thought it was all along...
    what was even betta was when I found out MJ and Lenny K were covering one of his songs...
    Michael rocked it better than Lenny Kravitz did.

    Buwaaaaaaahhhhaaa
