It seems pushed. Either Jermaine is a terrible actor or he really doesn't care. He should look DEVASTATED. Which he certainly doesn't in this pic. Or maybe in any...
I had the same reaction as you. But, we must applaud Jermaine for playing his part as best he could. He's never tried acting before, I don't think. <!-- s;) -->;)<!-- s;) -->

joku muu = "something else" and "somebody else"
In principle joku refers to a person and jokin refers to things. Especially in speech, the two words keep getting confused in such a manner that in each case the shorter and simpler word replaces the more "difficult" word.
So who is the girl hugging Tohme Tohme? in the third picture?
