Michael Jackson Anniversary Plans -- Denied!
Originally posted 10 minutes ago by TMZ Staff
Michael Jackson fans making extravagant plans for the anniversary of his death need a Plan B -- because Forest Lawn Cemetery and cops are putting the kibosh on most of the celebration.
A rep for Forest Lawn -- where MJ is buried -- tells TMZ fans will be allowed into the park on June 25, but not into the mausoleum itself. And the news ain't so good for these special requests:
- Releasing doves (DENIED)
- Releasing balloons (DENIED)
- Performing Jackson songs and dance routines (DENIED)
Sgt. Tom Lorenz says the Glendale PD has its own no-no list: no camping out the night before, no parking around Forest Lawn 24 hours prior, and no street vendor sales of anything ... including MJ merchandise.
The Forest Lawn rep says fans who behave will be allowed to pay their respects.

27 min. ago = 2+7=9 (this might be a coincidence <!-- s --><!-- s --> )
Exactly..... <!-- s:D -->:D<!-- s:D -->
These 27 minutes have no meaning at all. That was just the time I copied the article from TMZ and pasted it here...
Ye that's why I said it was a coincidence, yet a nice one
<!-- s:D -->:D<!-- s:D --> Agreed, and when I said it at the time that I didn't believe any of it.........Ohhh I was bashed, but are people not seeing the pattern to all this, events spoken about & then cancelled <!-- s --><!-- s -->
Oh, I thought I could plan to be dead, but I decided to cancel it <!-- s --><!-- s -->
Oh you know, they would surely care for other people burried in there....I mean, if Michael is dead, they surely don't want hundreds of fans sitting everywhere in grass, even on people's grave, making noise, singing song. There are other families who have members burried there...
I mean, grave is not a place to "party"... whether it's empty or not. I think that's what they're afraid of.
I see where you're coming from, and I definitely understand that. But isn't Forrest Lawn also a place where ceremonies take place? To me that seems like a contradiction, but maybe there's something I'm not understanding.
Usually TMZ has double meanings in these unique words - chosen oh so carefully...
Definitions taken fromhttp://www.dictionary.com
How they have used it as an idiom:
—Idiom
2.
put the kibosh on, to put an end to; squelch; check: Another such injury may put the kibosh on her athletic career.
But the same word is used as a noun:
–noun Informal .
1.
nonsense.
So interesting use of wording that we could gloss over however they are again trying to tell us... this is all nonsense! <!-- s:D -->:D<!-- s:D -->
if they wanna release balloons, why is that a big deal? It can be done respectfully.
Are they assuming its gonna be a celebration? I would figure pple would be too sad to be celebrating.
10 people can be respectful...how about dealing with hundreds ? I mean, I'm sure they're saying there is nothing because they don't want too many people to come. What would you do if you knew there was a concert or other stuff for Michael ? Everybody would go there at the same time. It's not easy to organise something with many people. Just watch MJ's concert (there was fainting people, surely other problem to deal with) It would mean that FL should have security people for this special day. I think they tr to discourage people to all come there. Just because they don't have capacity to manage a crowded place. It's not about being respectful or not. But crowd is not the same to deal with
I also stumbled on this word. Thank you to have brought this up. Indeed this anniversary has no sense as Michael is alive. <!-- s:) -->:)<!-- s:) -->

Indeed. I think the first part deserves to be pasted here:
"August 16, 1978, the first anniversary of the passing of Elvis Presley, was an embarrassing day in Memphis' history. The thousands gathered in Memphis to pay homage were greeted by a city with nothing to 'offer them but a fire and police strike. "Who knew they'd come back in droves?" Memphians asked themselves. At the time, Graceland was inoperative, the building that had housed Sun Records was unrecognizable, and Beale Street was in shambles. The city now touting itself as "the Birthplace of Rock 'n' Roll" and "the Home of the Blues" had not yet grasped its rich musical heritage or its impact on the world.
