This just in from the L.A. Times....I'm sorry to report that I don't know how this information fits in with the Hoax...any thoughts?

Janet Jackson says brothers verbally abused her

    Los Angeles —
Pop singer Janet Jackson says her big brother Michael Jackson used to tease her as a youngster about her bottom, while their other siblings called her a "horse," "pig" and "cow."

In an interview with NBC correspondent Meredith Vieira, on the promotional trail for her memoir, Jackson said the verbal abuse made her insecure about her looks.

"I would literally bang my head up against the wall because I didn't feel attractive," she said. "There was a lot of pain in my life. But I did. I felt very unattractive."

She used to laugh at the barnyard taunts, and said Michael's comments about her bottom were probably affectionate. But rather than confront him about his hurtful words, she simply internalized the pain.

Jackson, 44, relates her childhood trauma in her book "True You: A Journey to Finding and Loving Yourself," which will be published on Feb. 15.

As with her siblings, Jackson was beaten by her father who forced her to call him by his first name, Joseph. Still she escaped relatively lightly, recalling that she was struck with a belt just once.

"I know my father loves me," she said. "He just has a very, very different way of showing it."

Michael Jackson, almost eight years older than Janet, once tearfully recalled that his father would "tear you up" with a belt or some other convenient cord, and "would throw you up against the wall."

Of her brother, whom she last saw about six weeks before he died in 2009, Jackson said she embarked on the grieving process long after everyone else in the family.

"I don't know if it was trying to shield the pain, or just trying to hold it all together because I saw that everyone else around me was falling apart. And, never -- never taking that moment to really grieve. Really grieve, even at the service [in July 2009]."

But she recently allowed herself to watch his videos and listen to his music during a nightlong session in Paris.

"And, there was moments when I-- I felt the cry, and moments that made me laugh. And, it was good for me. I needed it," she said.

Jackson's NBC interview will air on Friday and next Monday on "Today," and Sunday Feb 13 on "Dateline."

You know, you're absolutely correct about this! This IS eerie! WTH?

Does anyone know how to put up a side by side comparison between the two interviews?

    Thanks!

She couldn't say "The Best is Yet To Come" and that's why she said "There is More to Come" <!-- s:lol: --><!-- s:lol: -->

The show is not over yet, there is more to come for sure. <!-- s;) -->;)<!-- s;) -->

What do they mean "opened up" about Michael's death? It's almost been 2 years, and she's had many interviews before this! She's already "opened up" about it.

    I also agree about the "There's more to come" thing <!-- s:) -->:)<!-- s:) -->

Oh, a new opening up. I thought at first this was the other interview she gave. To Oprah, or the Robin Roberts one...

This makes me really think he is not dead. I doubt she would reveal how he "verbally abused" her were he really gone. Btw- REALLY? He was teasing her, NOT verbally abusing her. I work with people being verbally abused (and more)- and this is not verbal abuse. It is sibling teasing - not nice, but people recover from that.

    Yes, another book indeed.

I was looking back to when Janet was in Paris in 2010 and it was during Paris`Fashion week. She busy attending runway shows, parties and other events the entire week...including evenings.

There are tons of photos on the Internet, of Janet, taken over that entire week. Now, I am not saying that she couldn`t have taken one evening to watch videos etc. but I doubt that someone who was having such a wonderful week with her new man, attending all these events and meeting up with old friends and acquaintances was grieving. Also one night of grieving and she is good to move on with her life...

I know people grieves differently, but this family kept "busy" to not grieve or there was nothing to grieve about on the first place.

I can NEVER watch a Janet Jackson interview without thinking there is SOMETHING going on here anymore. It's almost too painful too, especially in this interview conducted. I get the feeling she is really agitated by the constant questions regarding MJ's "death," but at the same time she seems like she is almost constantly hiding her emotions under her sleeve.

May God give you strength Suspicious mind!
The Lisa/Oprah interview is with sunflowers, many open windows and highback chairs. But they both show lots of greenery outside.

Seems like everybody's capitalizing on MJ by writing a book. MJ teasing her about her butt is definately affectionate not abuse, especially since MJ clearly said that was one thing he loved about women.

    "I love it when you shake that thing, especially." <!-- s:lol: -->:lol:<!-- s:lol: -->

But the media's always out to find something negative to write about MJ.

  • I can’t appreciate her even mentioning in passing that Michael “abused” her. That’s a crock. She and Michael have always spoken about how close and silly they were. And the nick name “dunk” seemed more of an endearment than an abuse. I hope Janet is not getting on the same bandwagon as the rest of the aspiring writers re Michael Jackson. That would finalize it for me. I could no longer listen to any of the siblings and fiend any real respect.
  • don't believe what the article says about janet saying that michael and her other siblings abusing her. she never said that right out of her mouth. she said how they teased her saying like "horse, pig, donk" whatever. it was funny and they made her laugh but in the end it did hurt her. she wasn't one of those people that let stuff like that go easily she held every thing in.
this is the link if you don't believe me:

As for the book, it is not about all Michael and what not. if you watch her previous interviews, she said it is about her journey of weight gain and weight loss. and how she dealt with them and such. apparently she claimed that she started writing the book even before Michael died and placed it on hold for a bit but it is now completed.

I feel bad saying it but I've started despising her in a way. She turns my stomach. She is so freaking resentful, it's not even normal... talking about how Michael teased her about being a FAT COW for years and years. You're an adult now, Janet, it's about time you started dealing with it. She even said (when she was asked) that she did confront Michael about it later in life and that he apologized. So why on earth does she keep holding a PUBLIC grudge like that, always talking about it, even now? He teased her because she was fat, not just because her butt was big. She was a big girl, she was over-weight. That's something entirely different than being teased about something you really have no control over, e.g. your nose. I believe she's always been somewhat jealous, I have no other explanation.

Taraborrelli claims in The Magic And The Madness that when he went to visit the Jacksons once for an interview, Michael's brothers were calling him 'big nose', too. When Bashir asked Michael directly if his brothers had teased him, Michael said: "My father did." If Taraborrelli is right, Michael basically lied for his brothers about this, and what does Janet do? She seems to be rather vindictive.

And to make it clear, I can understand it's part of her book, but she's been talking about this for years, and it's really nobody's business but MICHAEL's and JANET's. She said he apologized. What else does he have to do? And as if people didn't already hate him enough, she keeps dragging his name through the mud like that. "Oh, my cruel brother used to tease me so bad, it scarred me for life." That's RIDICULOUS. Stop eating, Janet, then people will stop complaining about your fat behind.

Brothers and sisters tease each other all the time. My two little boys tease their teenage sister by calling her a "big fat walrus" a lot right now because she acts similar to a cartoon walrus on TV who sings a lot and is a bit of a slob (just like my daughter!). The fact that my daughter knows she's carrying a few extra pounds doesn't bother her because she's comfortable in her own shape, she likes being curvy and I wouldn't want her to be like one of those anorexic skinny girls in magazines. She doesn't mind the teasing and just hits back with her own nicknames.

They're just words and yes some people are more sensitive than others but I believe if MJ was teased mercilessly by his father about his own appearance then it could also be a learned behaviour. MJ knows how much that hurt him but in Janet's case I remember reading he said that he only called her a big fat cow or whatever to try and encourage her to lose weight because he knew she was beautiful and wanted her to look her best. Not the best way to go about it, but in his way he probably thought he was helping her. For her own health and self-esteem she seems to be at her ideal weight now but I remember the National Enquirer front page pictures of her when she ballooned in weight, she was obviously very self-concious about being pictured that way. If she was happier at that weight she'd still be that weight, regardless of industry pressures. MJ teasing her probably just compounded all the misery she was feeling about herself and made her eat even more for comfort. She can't blame him still for this, he's explained and apologised. And considering what's been said by the world and his dog about MJ's appearance over the years she should really think before she mentions it at all. You think you had it bad Janet? How did he feel? Suddenly "big fat cow" doesn't seem like the worst insult in the world considering the names he's been called and is still called by some.
