• Doesn't sound promising for the hoax...
Maybe if they will announce that any of these concerts will be live broadcast, then we could talk about the possibility of a comeback in their shows.

Thank you pikachu. I was just going to post this.
Oh well....more dates. They will be busy. No summer slump for the Jacksons ;D
And of course with "MJ´s spirit in the house with us" nothing can go wrong :icon_mrgreen:
I don´t know....I don´t trust all this :suspect:

From JacksonSource Twitter:

@Jacksons Unity Summer Tourdates @jackiejackson5 @titojackson5 @jermjackson5 @marlon_jackson<;br />
The Jacksons Announce U.S. Tour Dates for Unity Tour 2012 - Multiplatinum icons, The Jacksons will be back on tour together for the first time in nearly three decades with hotly-anticipated Unity 2012 dates.

NEW YORK, April 4, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ — The most legendary family in music history is returning to the stage this summer with highly-anticipated Unity Tour 2012. A worldwide sensation since the 1970s, the Jacksons unveiled their line-up of U.S. tour dates today. Beginning June 18, 2012 and scheduled through July 29, 2012, this extraordinary reunion tour marks the first time siblings Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon and Tito Jackson have toured together since their groundbreaking Victory Tour in 1984.

Beloved by millions of fans across the globe for their soulful, sunny sound, contagious stage presence, and unforgettable roster of hits, the Jacksons first achieved international superstardom with their late brother Michael — becoming the first group ever to have their first four singles hit #1 on the Billboard Charts. Throughout their four-decade long career, the group revolutionized music and pop culture, getting inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997. The Unity Tour 2012 will be yet another milestone for the Jacksons, bringing the most famous family in music back together for a historic series of shows.

“This is a dream coming true,” said Jackie Jackson of the tour. “I can’t believe this is finally happening. There’s nothing like having all the brothers on stage at the same time. This will be exciting for our fans around the world— and I know at each concert, MJ’s spirit will be in the house with us.”

Honoring Michael’s memory and bringing the fans all the timeless hits they know and love is also paramount for Jermaine Jackson. “I am so happy and excited to perform again onstage with my brothers,” he said. “I can’t wait to sing all the songs that were so much a part of all of our lives. We are ready and committed to keep the family’s legacy alive and perform once again with the highest level of excellence, creativity, and most of all, integrity.”

A dynasty unlike any other, the Jackson family’s impossibly catchy brand of pop-funk changed music forever. With their record-shattering catalogue of hits, they remain the biggest-selling family in music of all time. Don’t miss your chance to witness music history firsthand this summer when the world-renown Jacksons reunite for the Unity Tour 2012.

Current tour dates are listed below, with additional dates forthcoming. Tickets go on sale in select cities on Friday, April 6th. For more information and tour dates, please go to www.thejacksons.com

Why no Randy?
On the Jackson website it states ALL the brothers, including Michael. But, when you click on Michael's name, you get his biography and on the side I think it had R.I.P and the date he *died*. I doubt he's gonna be at these shows, but I got a feeling the BAM is going to be this year.

Who will be singing all the Jackson lead vocals? Will the brothers take turns? Without MJ, people are gonna be so disappointed.

Although the IMMORTAL tour was truly amazing, it left me sad and hollow, wanting MJ all the more.
  • They hit DC on July 3. Orchestra seats are between $379 and almost $500 a seat. Nosebleed section and probably obstructed view $109, $125 up to $200. IDK, without Michael that's an awful lot to pay to sit there crying that Michael isn't there. :icon_pale: Plus, who amongst them can sing Michael's parts. Even more heartache. :icon_e_sad:

Hearing this annoucement just makes me miss Michael even more... :moonwalk_:

    hotly-anticipated
What a lot of hype, when it was only ever about Michael. :icon_eek: :icon_rolleyes:

Many fan of J5 will be excited to see them again, but the absence of MJ on stage will be very strong too. Cry until snot do not let them breathe. :moonwalk_:
  • It is really cool for Jackson 5 fans to have this opportunity to see Michael's brothers live. But to be honest with you, Jackie, Jermaine, Tito, and Marlon (and what about Randy?) are all very talented but I would never go see them live without Michael. On top of being the world's greatest entertainer ever, Michael Jackson has truly inspired me to work hard at my music and my singing and he has even made me a better person. While Michael's brothers are talented, they haven't inspired me as much as Michael has and therefore I don't have a huge desire to see them perform, especially for a price like that without Michael. It's not a Jackson 5 reunion tour without Michael Jackson, it just isn't. The songs are not the same without Michael's vocals no matter who sings them.

I really hope the BAM is sometime this year.

But, to all of you who are going to go to this tour, have an AMAZING time! I'm sure his brothers will still put on a good show. :)

Many of us are MJ "fans" and listened to the Jacksons because of Michael. I agree with some of you, without Michael, what´s the point?

  • Just want to say and it could mean nothing, but in jw faith we believe in a resurrection. When the dead come back to life we refer to this as "reunited"... probably nothing, in fact i am sure its not a connection, but the word united made my brain go straight there. cant help it...

however see you in July does also strike a chord. but agree that numbers are off for me.

Yep. We are just like my sisters and I when we get together. Guess we really are a family.
Anyhows back to the Unity tour. I'm waiting for Randy to chime in and do the "I'm against this tour of the Jackson 4 for for these :icon_question: :icon_question: reasons"
The original article in the opening post mentioned Houston. [I know after this, that other tour destinations were posted] and I may be onto nothing at all with this, but the initial thoughts that sprang to mind were Whitney obviously with the mentioning of Houston, and the fact that Murray's Houston office was the first search warrant issued all the way back at the hoax beginnings. Maybe something / probably nothing.
I also wonder if the 4 will do any of MJ's songs. The article says only J5 hits + Jermaines solo numbers. Anyhow.....if it happens....I'll be watching.
  • :thjajaja121: :thjajaja121: Bec - I swear you have split personalities. Some times you are so sweet and then sometimes.... :)

The tour - when I read the announcement it felt like the brothers are pretending that Michael is/was not the lead singer or not the reason they made it so big. The article almost says (without saying it) that they would have been a huge success on their own regardless of Michael. At least that is how I read it. Don't get me wrong, I think the Jacksons are amazing people and I love their sound when they sing together but it was Michael that was the melody that made their vocals a huge success. I can't imagine how it will work but if the price is right I'll go check them out as they are coming to my city. I want to see first hand what they have worked out and I also want to support them because of Michael.

I wonder if they'll get the sisters to make appearances? Something tells me though that we won't need to worry, that it will be canceled at the last minute.

Blessings
I think you may be on to something RK! "Houston, we have a problem!" :icon_lol: (famous astronaut words) Front said it's all in the details.

pikachu quoted:
7/14 Sat Houston, TX Bayou Music Theatre (Verizon Theatre)
Interesting, it's 777, too. See you in July. So maybe that's the one to watch closely.

All the Jacksons are carrying clues for MJ in this hoax. MJ wouldn't have gotten his start to fame without his family; and the Jacksons wouldn't have fame if it wasn't for MJ.
The Unity Tour ends on the 29th, slightly overlapping the Olympics which start July 27 and go to August 12. :icon_bounce:

Exciting how the roller-coaster is really on the move again!
/>

I also thought it was odd that out of all those destinations they mentioned HOUSTON in that article. I think this is NO coincidence, especially with the date too 7/14 --- > 777 as MJonMind also mentioned!
Plus what you added about Murray's HOUSTON office !! oh my! smells like hoax-clues to me!

I don't know about the sisters joining them or not, but my first comment in this thread was something similar to yours....having the feeling that this will be canceled , as we've seen before!

Also what RK says about Randy or some other Jackson members not agreeing with the tour, seems a possible outcome too :icon_lol:
At this point ... I expect anything to happen in this hoax :icon_albino: :icon_e_biggrin:

The city of Detroit fascinates me. If I were younger and more ambitious, I would love to buy a home and start a business there, and participate in urban agriculture. I am watching what happens in Detroit very closely, as I believe it is a window into the future fate of all urbanized big cities in America. I'd love to see it succeed and rise from the ashes; as if Detroit succeeds, so will industrial mankind.

But let's face it, as it is, it's not really a jewel on the Nile... and it's not a town that can attract a big name act looking for a sell out crowd. Detroit is inching towards ghost town status.

Hey, as far as predictions go, let's be careful what we proclaim here... we confidently wrote the Cardiff Tribute off as *never going to happen* and they defiantly pressed ahead and held that charade as proposed.

So a J5-sans MJ reunion on 777? Sure, bring it on. Like I said, we need something to go head to head with The Signs this summer. Can't just have one aspect of hoax chatter on the web, must diversify.
