i'm pissed off at people saying BBMAs hologram was great. What I find shocking is, Tupac's hologram was quite good, elvis's was amazing, but what happened when it came to Michael? Why would they present an impersonator? I'm starting to have second thoughts about the xscape album. The real question, what was Michael's involvement in both the album and the bbma's performance.

That's what's made me wonder. They did a really good job on Tupac's and Elvis' hologram, why not on Michael's? The difference is that Elvis and Tupac are dead and so producers are 'allowed' to make a good hologram of them, while producers are not allowed to make a (copy) good hologram of a living Michael. I think they did a good job and I enjoyed the performance but I believe they would have made a perfect copy (hologram) if Michael was dead.

I'm just guessing, but could it be that in the case of Elvis and Tupac, they used real existing videos, meaning that Elvis and Tupac performed this/sang this in real life and they made a hologram performance out of it? Then that's a big difference compairing to Michael's 'hologram' performance, because there was no existing footage of this. They had to put this together from other footage, hence the sometimes totally 'off' look. Or am I totally wrong here?

    I think you´re right Do.

Hence also the computer-designed head/face.
They had to make Mr. Hologram actually lip-sync the lyrics to the song, which real Michael had never performed before on stage.

Na-ah, they claimed they made this out of never-before-seen footage of Michael actually performing this.

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."

^^^ with headphones in a studio, near Paul anka on the piano?

Even if there exists such footage, it wasn't fit for this performance, singing and dancing 'angry' on stage. Maybe they used some parts of it, certainly not all of it.

IMHO, they used no MJ footage at all. This is clearly an impersonator.

Totally agree, is absolutely another person, in everything completely different from MJ : face, body and movements.

http://divinevarod.com/2014/05/20/michael-jackson-the-estate-sony-his-family-and-the-hologram-that-wasnt-him/

And why would Michael allow that? (that is, if he's still alive or if this is really his hoax)
Is it just that he likes to cause controversy, like many still think.

Or is it, like the blogger you quoted, said:
With Michael still in the media daily, an Estate that has split the family and seems intend on making money from him in any way they can no matter if the product be inferior making a mockery of his memory, it looks like Michael’s family, friends and fans have to morn him again and again every day as if we are all stuck in a never ending groundhog day.

If Michael were behind this, don't you agree that the 'hologram' would have been perfect, just like everything else that he has done, was?

:(. It was mike. Bma or bam. Come on guys. Makeup to make his face different. Mike. Watch it again

I think Michael wants to keep talking about him , especially now that June 25 is approaching,

And for me is another his clue , use an impersonator at the Billboard, because the media has always spoken a lot of his many impersonators. :moonwalk_:

To me, a perfect clue would be a totally perfect (almost as if he was real) 'hologram' of Michael on stage. An impersonator is no clue in my view, it is at most a clue that the real deal is no longer here and that we will have to do with a replacement.
I still think it is a composed hologram of available footage of Michael though.

I showed the hologram video to my son the other day, and he immediately said it was an imposter.

He actually thought it looked very womanly, especially in the hips. :icon_cool:

And now what the Estate has to say regarding Xscape and the Illusion .

http://www.dailymichael.com/news/mj-estate-statements/265-may-25-2014-message-from-the-estate-of-michael-jackson

From The Estate of Michael Jackson: Hello MJ Fam:

It has been a whirlwind few weeks and we wanted to share some more good news with you. In the six days since the video of the virtual MJ dancing to "Slave To The Rhythm" was uploaded to VEVO, it has been viewed more than 10 million times and that number is continuing to grow steadily. The performance gave the Billboard Music Awards its highest ratings in 13 years, and the response in the general public has been overwhelmingly positive – if you look at the VEVO post, you can see that the likes outweigh the dislikes 10 to 1!!!! This tells us it is a major success w/the general public which, after all, is what we all want – for the rest of the world to see and love Michael the way that we all do. The efforts of the last few weeks, and especially, the performance on the Billboard Awards is working!

While expectations might have been built up due to Alki David's frivolous lawsuit and inaccurate comments (he was not involved with the production at all), and ABC's efforts to promote the show, the Estate has tried hard to keep expectations in check. The Estate is proud of what has been achieved with the promotional activations over the last few weeks but recognizes, along with all of you, that no one/nothing can replace Michael. Fans all over the world are speaking out with their positive comments online and with their support for Xscape and now the general public is taking notice and joining in.

The general public, and more importantly the media, often takes cues from the fan community. The support of the fan community publicly will only augment the support of the general public for Michael Jackson.

The MJ fans have much to be proud of - HITS Magazine put Xscape in its number one spot based on it's tallies for US sales, the record is the #1 selling album worldwide for its first week and the #1 streamed record on Spotify for the first week of release! The illusion has put Michael back in the forefront of the entertainment world and helped promote Xscape.

The Estate hopes that the fans are as thrilled as they are to see so much positive press about Michael from every corner of the globe. It is heartwarming to see that the overwhelming reaction from the general public to the new music and to Michael. As we mentioned in one of our emails last week - we're just getting started. Keep watching for what's next.

MJOnline
The Official Online Team of The Michael Jackson Estate™

Estate

and Rolling Stone gives us their take on the Hologram in this little piece....

http://www.rollingstone.com/music/pictures/billboard-music-awards-2014s-15-best-and-worst-moments-20140519/worst-misuse-of-a-pop-icon-putting-michael-jacksons-name-on-whatever-that-was-0503365

Worst Misuse of a Pop Icon: Putting Michael Jackson's Name On Whatever That Was
You wouldn't think something could get any more crass and shameless than "Michael Jackson hologram," but the Billboard Awards and the executors of his estate certainly found a way. First off, we’re pretty sure that wasn’t even a hologram of Michael Jackson, but a hologram of a Michael Jackson impersonator — where are you gonna find one of those in Las Vegas? You guys know this is 2014 and we're not watching this on a cathode TV with rabbit ears — i.e., we can see his face. Secondly, Michael Jackson analyzed everything — videos, choreography, etc. — to the last detail and would have never approved some slapped-together mess full of Cirque du Soleil nonsense and no discernable theme. Thirdly, even Michael at 55 years old would have moved around more than that. The most physical musician in pop history was sitting in a chair. Fourthly, in a room full of people who would gladly sing Michael's praises (Kelly Rowland, Pete Wentz, John Legend), why waste his introduction for Ludacris, Brad Paisley and Ke$ha to shill their new ABC show, "Which allows you guys, the fans, to vote for your favorite live performances." Hands down the most appalling, lamest cash-in on MJ's legacy we've seen thus far.

The estate have always given hints or clues giving the impression that MJ is alive. They watch the hoax forums for sure. For me there are 2 possible reasons for this :

either MJ is alive and trying to let his fans know

or the estate see this as a way to increase revenue and to keep an air of 'mystery' around MJ. Something he was awesome at doing during his time in the public eye.

I switch from one belief to the other at the moment, depending on how I'm feeling that day....
We know they are aware of the hoax forums, so yeah, they probably just copied us copying back. Why they would is unclear.

Remember when I called n spoke to Paris's bodyguard after Ms. Katherine's "disappearance" and how friendly and accommodating he was at mention of the hoax; thanking me for my support. For whatever the reason, the family and estate have never been offended by hoax talk, much less ever tried to discourage it. Which, I always argued, if MJ were in any danger, they would. I also argued if he were really dead they would be offended then too. Although I can't argue that position as strongly as I can the escaping danger/FBI involvement theory one, the portion of the hoax that has existed in real life has always had an entertainment feel to it. Perhaps that's all it ever was meant to be.
