Michael Jackson's parents are set to divorce after 60 years of marriage, after the King of Pop's mother Katherine tired of her husband Joe's cruel behaviour.

The pair became estranged five years ago, but the family matriarch reportedly decided to file for divorce after Joe, 81, suggested she was to blame for their son's shock death last year.

Mr Jackson, who was accused of abusing Michael as a child, said in June: 'I begged her to go over and stay with him, but she insisted he needed his privacy.'

Mrs Jackson retaliated, saying through her spokesperson: 'Joe Jackson's statement and conduct toward Mrs. Jackson are outrageous.'

Referring to the abuse of their children, the spokesperson then said: 'The world also knows who Joe Jackson is and he seems bent on never letting us forget.'

According to the Daily Star, Mrs Jackson considered the attack as the final straw.

'She's been humiliated by him for too long. She's absolutely livid. There's no going back.'

The couple became estranged five years ago and live apart.

Mrs Jackson has sole custody of her late son's three children Prince Michael, 13, Paris, 12, and 'Blanket', 8, in Encino, California and Mr Jackson based in Las Vegas.

Despite already being separated Mrs Jackson was said to be reluctant to officially end the marriage, because as a Jehovah's Witness she doesn't believe in divorce.

The couple, parents to nine children including Jackson 5 members Michael, Jackie, Tito, Jermaine and Marlon, married in November 1949 and have 26 grand children.

They put on a united front to support Michael during child abuse accusations against him and mourned side-by-side at his funeral after his death in June last year, aged 50.

In 2007, Michael accused his father - who he does not mention in his will - of beating him when he was a child.

'My father would rehearse with a belt in his hand, you couldn't mess up. I would never get spanked during rehearsals or practice - but afterwards was when I got in trouble,' the singer said.

That 2nd picture of Katherine made my heart skip a beat. But as far as the divorce, I'm glad they're going through with it. If Ms. Katherine suggests it, it must be for the best.

Not sure, but I think this could be true. I keep hearing "Dave" saying "To liberate myself from the confines of my father's criminality. He was a criminal and he caused all this." Maybe now it's Katherine's turn to liberate herself.

Although I do think Joe must love his kids, most likely in his own twisted way, there is so much he did that must have hurt Katherine as a mother. She might have been under some sort of control and maybe it's only now she is ready to let go. If it's true I applaud her for making such a decision at her age, a divorce is no picnic, most certainly not after 60 years of marriage.

Where Joe lives?, There are pictures of him in Encino, or are old photographs. There is a court decision that says it can not be near children Michael, I think, correct me if I'm wrong.
Then it may be that children are not in Encino

I thought Joe lives in Vegas along with Jo-Vonnie his other daughter. I wonder what could have pushed Katherine at this late stage to finally seek a divorce. Just wondering, as she put up with so much from Joe with everything he did over the years. As Katherine is Mike's children's legal guardian, could divorcing Joe make it harder for him to recieve anything from the estate?

I can't help but wonder if this decision has anything to do with the hoax. It would not be surprising if they both know different things. Perhaps Katherine knows more than Joe and he's caught on, likely trying to get information out of her. I'm just guessing of cource. But throughout this whole thing, Joe has seemed to be "out of the loop". We know that Michael loves and trusts his mother more than anyone. Or maybe Katherine was a mind control victim as well, with Joe being the handler of her as well. I'm just thinking out loud. But my gut has always told me that Katherine and all of the Jackson siblings are too sweet for Joe. They all seem to be afraid of him...

I agree with Souza's comment about "Dave's" words...

I think it is about time Katherine divorces Joe Jackson. If I am not mistaken he also had an affair and has a daugther with the woman. Also how dare he blames katherine, isn't he a parent also? Why didn't he go and help his son, or maybe if he treated him differently he probably would have been happier child and person. Don't forget we say why MJ was unhappy in the yr 2000? When a child was abused when small, sometimes they regress the pain, and the beatings, for a long time. This can come back into the surface anytime in his adulthood. Maybe he remembered how he was treated when he was a child and started to be unhappy. It is so easy to blame another person for your own mistakes. He should assume responsability, and say It is also my fault for not being in my son's life and abusing him over and over. I agree, that Katherine was aware of the hoax and Mj did not tell his father.

this statement just makes my blood boil :evil: :evil: does she not think that her children suffered humiliation from what he did to them? she only reacts to what is done to her.you ever consider that randy is the one with problems of violence when michael was three when he was born and not long after that joe was gone away from home alot with the other boys. and there don't seem to be anyone coming forward to say that joe ever laid a hand on her.i will log off now since i know i have most likely stirred up some dander with all the katherine is a saint people but sometimes i just can't hold my tounge on this.

OMG. this is amazing. I could hardly wait to get home this evening to tell you about my dream. And now to see this, it's freakin amazing. :shock: I don't know if I had this dream because of the post I saw a few days ago with an article saying "breaking news" but at any rate, here goes.

I usually don't remember my dreams, so when i woke up this morning I took my recorder and recorded it. Good thing i did because during my work day, it got more and more blurred.

So here it is: I dreamed last night that I was watching a dvd <!-- s

--> and right in the middle of it was a breaking news story. Strange right? However in the dream it seemed plausible. Everyone was stirring and it appeared that they were at The Staples Center. The mike was checked and a lot of suits were surrounding the stage area. My first thought, the President. But the lights went dim which I found quite odd and there was a wait of about 10 minutes. Then out of the left wing side of the stage a man was escorted to the podium. He was shrouded by some what I thought secret service people. His head was lowered so you could't see who exactly it was. Then he got to the mike and that noise came out, the kind when the mic needs adjusting. He finally said I am here today, and immediately I knew it was Michael. People started stirring and bulbs were flashing and whispers grew into garbled conversations. Michael held up his hand and there was dead silence.

This is what he said. He smiled and said, I'm so glad to be here with you, but I have been with you all along, you just didn't see me or know me. Most people never knew me even when they recognized my face, they didn't recognize ME. He said I was here on 6/25/09. I was with you. I sat with you. I stood with you. I walked with you but you didn't know me. He said (and this part I am going to research) I sat with you as you said goodbye to me, in that row, in that seat, and he pointed to the left. He said I was the sunflower, the yellow hat I wore represented the lonely, yellow sunflower in the meadow of greenery. I was surrounded by all, yet no one noticed me. Then he said. But now I stand here and I am inspired by the love you all have gathered in the midst of my death. and he did the thing with the fingers to emphasize the word death.

the dream trails off and I could not remember that part. Sorry :? but the next thing I remember is him having shifted his weight on the podium like when he was talking about Sony and he was saying. My family, my mother, my father, my children, my sisters, my brothers and all of you, I have given you time and space to breathe a new existence in me and now I feel I can sit and stand and walk and talk with any of you and I will not be afraid. I know that you have changed. You know that I have changed. I know that you love me for me.

Then I can't remember if there was something here, but the last part was this, and this is what is freaking me out. He said this: I have given my family time to heal and make decisions and grow. I have given them their own legs to stand on. I have made them stronger and now I know that they can go it alone and make their own way. This is what my "death" has done for them and for you. My family has made their own decisions. They have made their own lives aside and apart from me. My dear mother, Katherine I love you, I always knew you could do it. My children, they always knew I would never leave their hearts. My fans, I love you more. I really do. I love you more now because I know that you believe in me.

Applause, applause. There was more said that I did not remember, and I woke up. But I was so excited when I did, I thought I was gonna have a heart attack <!-- s

That's funny. People really think he was MJ? The blond woman looked more like him in my opinion. However, he was to the left, to the left. But like I said, it's only a dream, an escape. I am still going to see if it is still on the web and look over the memorial service to see if there are other yellow hats in the crowd.

By the way, in the second picture Katherine looks really devastated. That picture throws us off. If she knew about it, than she is a darn good actress. Or maybe that's the day Joe told her that it was her fault, and she is upset because of that. What do you think? I feel mixed feelings all of a sudden. Nah.. I have to snap out of it. can someone let me know what they think about that second picture of Katherine??

The hat is not yellow, it is a beige.. but it is only a dream. But dreams can come true!

Whew, I thought I was color blind for a minute. That hat man's hat looked beige to me too. Got to be somebody else. He said yellow. So I think I'll keep looking. Thanks ;)
