Listen to the words in the song Snake in the Grass:

One sting (from a needle?) is enough to make you happy and free
One sting and you'll discover how relaxed you can be posthumously.

Great job guys! So many connections, it's ridiculous. <!-- s:lol: --><!-- s:lol: --> And just curious, did MJ ever say that Bob Fosse was one of his inspirations? Obviously, he had to be. He even has the white socks and shoes. <!-- s:lol: --><!-- s:lol: -->

It seems that Bob Fosse was a huge inspiration for Michael. Michael won the Bob Fosse Award for "Best Choreography in a Music Video", in 1997, for the choreography in Ghosts. This must have been such an honour (among all the other awards listed) for Michael!

"little prince" movie was made in 1974 ...

and ... Michael Jackson performed in a series called "soul train" in 1974 ... there might be a connection or something ...

Sorry but I have to... <!-- s:lol: --><!-- s:lol: --> @ the Soul Train. Soul Train is a dance/music performance show. I doubt the two are connected. It's not a fictional television series. I am not sure if you thought that but I never heard anyone refer to Soul Train as a series. Anyway, it doesn't hurt to investigate and find possible connections. Just wanted to let you know about the Soulllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll Train. (Listen to the theme song and you'll get it. lol)

that's too cute, really! technically, you could call 'soul train' a series...but i also notice while i write this, that there are no music shows like that anymore. not weekly anyway, which was all the case in the 70s to maybe early 80s, until mtv came along. i remember we had a show in germany called 'disco' and another one called 'musikladen' (=music store), presenting international chart acts or new talents every week. that was all before mtv and 'the dome' and such things, people...it was called 'family entertainment'...*sigh*...i'm too old for this sh!t... <!-- s:roll: --><!-- s:roll: -->

y'all know what? this is HUUUGE!!! this vid shows that actually sony has NO RIGHT to ban hoax videos on youtube anymore without a legal claim directly to the person who posted it, if i got this right. thus, anyone posting a vid that gets banned can also sue sony for blocking THAT original idea, cuz the vid is the work altogether, not just the material used in it. and then it can be defended by saying that it is 'teaching material' or something, because these vids will NOT change the original value of mike's work and they actually have no commercial value which would endanger the original. so any hoax vid using sony material of mike should be legal!!! now, all hoax vid producers should file a legal claim against sony for blocking their vids! what a legal battle that would be... <!-- s:lol: --><!-- s:lol: --> <!-- s:lol: --><!-- s:lol: --> <!-- s:lol: --><!-- s:lol: --> all of youtube against sony and all the other ones that block for 'content'...let them suckaz go DOWN!!! <!-- s:twisted: --><!-- s:twisted: -->

i also find the fact interesting that the one clip used was using 'revived', but not spoken. clue? so that means that mike can still claim his own copyright and also, that sony MUST pay the estate for anything they want to use in the future that is not their copyright. as far as i know, mike has the sole copyright to all of his work, sony has limited (time!) publishing rights, meaning they can only publish what is given to them, but that doesn't include a copyright, except for the package they put it in. they cannot claim anything (like they're desperately tryin' to), which also means they have no right to block anything they don't have a copyright to in the first place...the only one who could legally block vids using original material would be mike himself, is my conclusion of this... <!-- s:mrgreen: --><!-- s:mrgreen: -->

I have read in many accounts that Michael was like a "sponge" when it came to studying the Greats who came before him....his genius was his ability to incorporate the best of his predecessors into his own work....remember that phrase, "Imitation is the greatest form of flattery"...take a look at this vid of Judy Garland....remind you of anything?

(sorry...I'm horrible at embedding...if someone can do that, I'd be so oblidged...but click on this and be AMAZED once again at Michael Jackson's genius!)

mike was a huuuge fan of hollywood musicals, like the gene kelly and fred astaire ones. bob fosse was not only a performer but also the choereographer of many of those musicals. he's like the inventor of the modern dance musical as we know it. and there are def some striking resemblances to mike's dancing and posing later on! mind that the movie is from 1974 (!) when mike was just 16, so bob fosse was most def one of his major figures to study.

here's a recipe: throw the nicholas brothers, fred astaire, gene kelly, bob fosse, sammy davis jr., jackie wilson and james brown in a pot, add some temptations routines, stir it up real good and cook with some genius and magic talent and you get: michael jackson! watch all those dancers back to back and you'll see!

Tabloidburn....so glad you saw the connection between her performance and Michael's....I just happened upon this one day and was SHOCKED at the similarity!
I never considered before, though, the Liza/Michael connection to JUDY! Great insight! That man NEVER ceases to amaze me! What a genius! Makes me love him all the more....just when I thought that wasn't possible!
