The hands are the workers "regular folk" and the head is the people who are really running the world or the "elite". The heart is the person that is in between the two worlds and understands both sides and wants to heal the war between us versus them. I also like to think the heart is a representation of L.O.V.E. At least, that's how I interpret the message at the end of the movie. It's really an incredible movie. I would recommend it to everyone. It does make you think a lot about this world and its structure and how we can heal it.
If you get a chance, watch the documentary "King Corn". I found the trailer to it, but, please, try to find the full-length documentary. I've seen it, and it's all about Monsanto and their GMO-linked corn. A must-see!

I've seen the trailer and I am trying to find the whole documentary...is it out on DVD? I think it's really interesting and yes it is scary to see what you put into your system without even knowing!!

PERIOD!!!

Vanity Fair has a great article on their site featuring one of our favorite corporate villains, Monsanto. It is truly astounding the amount of evil doing that this one company can engage in.
From a business standpoint Monsanto certainly has the right to patent their genetically modified seeds, and profit and protect their profits with litigation from their business developments. But they do not have the right to give us products that suck. Their products suck. They spread all over the countryside. They don’t stay contained. In short, they act like plants. (Amazing, I know)
Monsanto as a company lies, incredibly, about what they are doing. They bribe officials around the world and they seem to treat the world as their toilet. That’s not right for the rest of us.
When their seeds are let loose Monsanto does have the right to ensure that farmers are buying their seeds through proper channels. But they do not have the right to coerce, threaten or harass farmers. We have a legal system for a reason. They certainly do not have the right to chase after farmers who are just victims in their (Monsanto’s) inability to control the seeds. (like this poor farmer) If they can’t keep their seeds under control then they should not be allowed to produce them. So far our government has failed to protect us in this endeavor.
The easiest way to force them to stop this nonsense is to stop being involved with them. Buy only organic food. Don’t eat CAFO meat, which is stuffed with GM corn and soybeans. Don’t use ethanol, which is made from GM corn. (Same with biodiesel) Stop buying vegetable oils from GM seeds. Use organic cotton. Monsanto is trying to make inroads on GM sugar beets, and if they do start buying organic sugar. Even better, let the candy companies know that you don’t want GM sugar. They have the power to stop it.
You have the power to change this too. Just change your consumption patterns.

Yes, the very first time I´ve heard of this company wasn´t long ago.
I think it was a documentary about genetically modified foods.
Monsanto seems to be one of the biggest global manufacturer and distributors.
The legal framework for the export of genetically modified fruit and vegetables to Europe is -due to the steady protest of people - restricted and prohibited in large parts. But that doesn´t protect enough, since the source for certain ingredients like soy powder for food production isn´t specified on the package. Furthermore the law doesn´t apply to genetically engineered food for animals and pets.
According to Greenpeace, components of genetically changed food can be found in more than 30.000 products - bread, butter, milk, eggs, chocolate, babyfood...
Only the consumer alone can make a change with modifying the own buying habits.
And with bringing certain terms into question: Is "bio"diesel really "bio" when whole areas of fields get poisoned - just for fuel?

Here in France, geneticly modified food must be writen on the box and some are not allowed...But when you eat beaf, you can be sure it's fed with genetic corn and stuff like that, unless it's "bio"...
About starvation, I think we really DO have a problem about "bio diesel" and meat production. Most of the cereals that are produced in the world are used to feed animals or to feed cars !
Do you know that to produce 1kg of beef, you need 25kg of cereal ? And who on Earth can afford beef everyday for lunch ?
We should really change or eating and consuming habits...
Buy local, travel by train or use carpooling, eat local products, and eat LESS meat...
We should also use less "ready to eat" food, cause you don't know what's in. When you buy your vegetables produced where you live, and you buy your chicken grown naturally in the farms around...you just know what you buy and what you eat...
I'm not veg, but I'm sure we are eating too much meat for our own needs, or for the planet's health. But you know, it's like smoking, hunting, whales fishing...there are "lobbists?" to tell you what's wrong or right in your life.
